I moved here in May 2023. I looked forward to the amazing view from the balcony overlooking Piedmont Ave. I was intrigued by the free use of the gym as well as having secured, gated parking. But, my excitement's quickly diminished. The day we were supposed to move, we quickly found out we could not because the unit was not ready. Mind you, I had rented a U-Haul van for the day and have some friends take off work to help me move. I could not move until around 2 or 3 PM. I did get some compensation, but the failure of the apartment to be ready was an inconvenience. 1 - The maintenance staff is by far the best aspect living here. They are quick to resolve issues and are always friendly. 2 - This place is NOT secure. Do not let them fool you. Homeless people and random others gain access to the building. They will sleep in the bottom garage, or even find their way to other places in the building. 3 - Once someone is in the building, they have access to ANYWHERE in the building as you only need a fob to enter the building. For example, non-residents who use the gym, have access to the parking garage. (They will illegally park, so get use to that. I have seen these people come and park in the garage when there is an event in the park). Also, there have been recent vehicle breaking because ANYBODY can access the parking garages once they are inside the building. 4 - Homeless people will camp out in front of the building, on the patio where the nail Salon and gym are located. They leave trash, human waste, drug paraphernalia, and other items. The first week I lived here, there was a crack pipe, lighter, and other items in the lower parking garage. 5 - Delivery (Amazon, UPS, FedEx) drivers WILL NOT place your packages in the secure Luxer Boxes. They will leave them in the lobby. Remember #3 above? Yeh...people have gained access and stolen packages from the lobby. This place IS NOT secure. 6 - They are a "Clean Air" policy, but people will smoke marijuana throughout the building because there is no repercussions for violating this policy. 7 - In one year, the elevator has broken down at least 9 times. And the fire alarm has gone off 4 time, and they were fake alarms. Now here is the kicker or it all! I was told to renew would be $3,495 and that was competitive for the marker. Now, the unit (608) is on the website for $2,900. I would not recommend moving in here. Once I saw how random people can get in, I regretted moving here. Management is somewhat receptive, but there have been times when I had to escalate to the regional and national headquarters because nobody responded to me. UPDATE: MARCH 2024 - Received emails about vehicle break ins, package tampering, and the elevator broke down again. Please note, that the owner response is the first real response I ever received. Also, residents do need fobs, but people who use the gym have access via a code. UPDATE: May 2,2024: I was attacked verbally and physically by a Crackhead, homeless person. As I entered the building, he began throwing large rocks at the door. He hurled explicative WORDS at my friends and me. DO NOT MOVE HERE.
