Location was awesome. Unit was fair for the price. I enjoyed living in a smaller apartment complex with a very walkable location. I enjoyed the close access to piedmont park. Unfortunately, I cannot neglect to mention the period of months where the fire alarm would go off at all times of the day or night. The firemen said it was elevator related or someone had pulled the alarm. My suspicion is homeless people would get trapped in the parking decks and need to pull the fire alarm to escape... which reminds me, do not forget your keys when entering the parking deck. There is NO WAY to get out. Theoretically, there are "push to exit" buttons which can free you to the outside, but they do not work. I got locked out early one morning, management did not answer, emergency maintenance did not answer, I had to wait for my roommate to wake up to rescue me. Maintenance: There were at least three instances where maintenance was in our apartment without our knowledge. It feels unfair that a space I pay for could be violated that many times with no notice / 1 hour prior email notification. Imagine my horror when I came home from work and there was a whole crew of people on my balcony, moving my furniture when I did not get a chance to protect my belongings. Of the three times, none of this maintenance was requested by us, it had to do with fire alarm inspection and building upkeep. I did contact the building manager who texted me back that he would "look into it" but never followed up with any communication. In response to the lack of secure presence in the building, a security company was hired. However, when talking to the guard he informed me the complex had not given him anywhere to park so he can enter the building. He also was security for nearby residences. I am sure it is hard to do your job when you have not been given all the tools you need to be successful. Speaking of security, the front door has a call box that is broken. It does not call any resident. But good news, the front door is hardly ever locked/closed all the way so anyone (including the large population of homeless people) can enter. There is a package room with storage lockers you will be charged to use. However, most mail carriers leave mail in the lobby (near the door which does not shut/lock) because they are not clear where the mail room is/how to access it. I was tremendously let down by choosing to live here.
