Imagine my surprise when I go out into the private courtyard to let my dog pee at night and I hear snoring! As it turns out, a person who did not live in the building was sleeping on the couches outside. How do I know they don't live in the building? Well, the evening afterwards, I witnessed the same person in the process of entering from the street, even though the courtyard is aboveground. Not only do I not feel safe on the building premises, but I don't feel safe in my own apartment since it is ridiculously easy to enter the building via the front door. Over the last few months, the buildings entrance on Piedmont Ave has been intermittently unlocked, and management has not addressed the issue even after being made aware. Additionally, management has been aware of the problem of strange people coming to the courtyard at night without permission, and has hired and fired a security service twice or maybe more. There is not currently a security person on site. All of the negative reviews you see on here are true, and any positive ones you see are regarding touring or maintenance since it appears management sends out links to a "survey" which is in fact Google reviews, likely to pad the reviews of the apartment complex overall. Do not move here if you prioritize safety. To be clear, I agree with all of the following points from other reviews: 1. There are constant fire alarms 2. I've heard accounts from neighbors about homeless accessing the parking garage and sleeping in their car 3. Other cars frequently take spots which are not assigned to them, and there is no recourse you can take if they take your spot. When this happened to me, I contacted the robotic "emergency maintenance" to request a tow, but no human ever reached out after the automated machine took my message. 4. The elevator does not consistently work, so living here simply is not suitable for those who require an elevator. 5. Both maintenance and management are offsite so any concerns or repairs can take days or more. When our AC didn't work in the middle of the summer, my maintenance request was ignored for 3 days before I called and texted management. Even then, I had to follow up multiple days in a row to get someone from maintenance out. 6. Frequent management turnover
