If it wasn't for the constant maintenance issues over the year we lived there (elevators routinely down, garage frequently flooding, gross sewage odor, tree mulching until 6 or 7 PM right outside your windows, jack hammers and concrete saws for hours on Sunday morning, extremely thin floors/ceilings, etc...), we'd probably give them 2 stars instead of 1. Or, if it was only the maintenance issues, we might even give them 3 stars instead of 1. However... We were shown a unit with HDMI ports in the walls for the TV/cable connections. It was a feature that we really liked and a factor in our decision to take this pricier unit. But they never did get the ports working for us. They looked at them 3 times in the first month or two and each time said "We have to have the contractor fix it". That never happened. It just went ignored. They also showed us a brand new fireplace in the unit. But then, after we signed the lease agreement, they told us that we would have to buy the burner kit for it to work ($200). Who's ever heard or that?! Now to add insult to injury... When we moved out, there were a couple of minor scuff marks on the walls. Keep in mind we lived there for barely a year and we're an extremely low impact couple. Most landlords would deem them normal wear and tear. Not here - they called them "damages". And instead of cleaning the marks or doing a touchup, or painting just the affected wall, they charged us to repaint the entire unit. Nor did they give us a chance to clean the marks ourselves - perhaps we could have simply washed them away. When they did the inspection, they told us everything was fine - nothing about scuffs and painting. And then they sent us the bill, including full paint. I'm guessing they took advantage of the opportunity to change the color of the whole unit on our dime. Even if not, charging us to paint the entire unit for 3 small scuff marks (that they didn't tell us about in the pre-move inspection) is ridiculous. After all the patience and tolerance we showed over the fireplace and HDMI ports issues, that's a pretty crappy way to be treated. I regret now not deducting from our rent every month that those things weren't resolved. There are a few nice things about being there: -The location is great -The maintenance staff are really nice people -The grounds are very pretty and enjoyable But, for us anyway, that didn't make up for those issues being neglected for a year and then being egregiously charged on the way out. 12/31/17: After already going back and forth in email with you guys and being told in no uncertain terms that the decision is final (not to mention the unresolved items over the year), why should I contact you now just because you're responding to my Yelp review? No thanks.
