We rent a loft here and have had a nightmare experience with getting our heater repaired. After 7 repair visits it is still not working. At least 2 electrical shorts, inside the wall- which can cause a fire, were found so far. It is currently mid-winter and 16 degrees outside and we have no heat. the front office people are nice, but can do nothing to help. The repair people, at least 3 or 4 different "repair" guys, come in, take it apart, test the voltages, replace a fuse, and tell me it is working. It fails within 24 hours of their visit. It emits a loud buzz/moan noise with no fan or heat. I've submitted at least 10 service requests so far. One one occasion, with the temperatures outside at 20 degrees or so, they got back to me 72 hours later. One time they actually showed up with a new heater, but the "repair" person declared that our faulty unit was working and did not install it. It failed the next day. The same thing happened last night- a repair guy showed up, tested some voltages with a meter, and declared it working. It failed again this morning. I found out today that an order to put in a new heater was cancelled because of his call to the main office. The first call regarding the heater was at least two months ago. It is still not fixed. They seem unwilling to commit to actually providing a legally "habitable" apartment/loft. I cannot recommend the Bank and Boston Lofts based on this unexplainable response to a simple request.
