My experience at Chestnut Hall and the management there was terrible and I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. For starters, the building is not structurally sound. I have lived in two different units, the first unit the walls began to crumble whenever it would rain while the second unit I lived in, the bathroom ceiling collapsed twice and flooded the apartment. I put in maintenance requests for each issue but they do not know how to actually fix the issue. Likewise, the complex is infested with cockroaches and rodents, even with the multiple maintenance requests to address this issue, the problem was not fixed. It was extremely uncomfortable to live; the living conditions were so terrible I had to break the lease. In terms of management, the previous community manager Danny was amazing and the only helpful community manager. The current manager, Cavan Mehler, is extremely unhelpful and also barely responsive. He takes two days to answer simple questions or just doesn't answer in general. Also when moving out they will make it impossible to get your deposit back, they will add fees for painting and cleaning, even though they state in their move out instructions that professional cleaning is only recommended not required. Overall, the apartment and management at Chestnut Hall are terrible. They also will try to entice you by doing promotions, like getting $500 for referring a friend, which they never gave to my friend who referred me. There's a reason why they have been offering free rent for the rest of the year to new leases since October 2024 and that's because nobody would want to live in these disgusting conditions.
