Update: STAY AWAY! My rent was raised by $300, a bigger percentage increase than the property's value increase in the last year. They're also raising the cost of parking and removing off-street spots in an already crowded complex. Tows ordered by management are a common sight now. Also, be wary of many of the 5-star views. The property management company offers incentives for reviewing the complex and a lot of people think they have a better chance of winning a giveaway with a positive review. -- Original Review-- I've lived here for 3 years and overall, my experience with Hillmeade has been slightly below average. While most day-to-day things are fine, it feels like a lot gets tied up in corporate bureaucracy. When my car was hit from a spot they were supposed to be controlling access to, I couldn't even get a return call or email. Hillmeade should not be your first choice, but it's a decent backup. Pros: Clean grounds (mostly - the pools could use more frequent upkeep and tennis courts are pretty rough.) Nice location close to downtown and Bellevue. Good maintenance team. They're relatively quick and have fixed all the issues I've brought up. No pests. Haven't seen any pest insects or animals inside since I moved in a few years ago. Cons: Greedy and borderline predatory parking policy (from the new residents I've talked to, they don't seem to be telling new residents that the numbered spots are extra and they won't be able to park near their apartment unless they pay for one). This complex has terrible parking and it's entirely caused by their own greed. 1st come, 1st serve would fix it. Understaffed admin/front office. You will NOT be able to reach the main office at any time by phone or email unless you're looking for sales. You have to walk in for them to even pretend you exist. Apartment was not ready on my move-in date. There was paint on the floors, popcorn ceiling falling directly onto where beds would be, and frozen over AC unit. Vents were rusted and installed poorly.
