Updated 9/4/19 So, in a further continuation of the hilariously absurd HIllmeade and AIMCO saga, they've installed a Smart Lock system that appears to be data mining the resident's movements to be sold off for advertising purposes. I've been asking for clarifications on what is being done with the data from the smart locks for more than two months now, and the corporate office is stonewalling. Just last night I received an email refusing to answer 3 of my 6 questions regarding the new smart locks, and how the information it collects is being used and/or distributed to business partners. While their privacy policies say they can't SELL the data they collect, they can give it freely away, and there is nothing stopping AIMCO or the lock company from spinning off advertising subsidiaries to sell location based advertising using data mined from your residence without your permission. There are also huge security risks and concerns about the lock themselves, which are effectively Raspberry Pie units with a lock motor hardwired to it. These Huawei made devices are currently banned for use by the U.S. government and many large U.S. corporations because of security concerns, but that doesn't matter to AIMCO because they figured out how to turn you living on their property into a completely new revenue stream regardless of how it may effect your safety and privacy! Come rent with Big Brother! You'll never be alone! Literally! Still takes about two weeks to get maintenance to fix something, but they have a 24 hour maintenance commitment! I'm not sure what that even means, but they keep telling me that after they're two weeks like fixing a sink. --------------------------- Easily the worst property management company I've ever dealt with. Make sure you get anything they say in writing and signed, because by the time you come by the office next week everyone will have quit again. I just paid a $140 water bill and can't get the office to respond to maintenance requests. This has gone on for months, and the constant flood of new employees and old ones quitting on no notice has meant that nothing is being done. Rent here at your own peril! Updated at on 9/25/2018 It's been 30 days sense I posted this. After a flurry of activity, the company has gone silent, nothing has been done to my apartment, and my water bill is now 238.96. What do I have to do to actually get someone fix something in this place? Updated 10/1/2018 I've just been informed that despite the company being aware of the issue, and knowing a problem exists, I will have to pay this absurd bill upfront at my own cost, and be reimbursed by the company at a later date with a rent credit. So, I'm being over charged for a second month in a row, and as of now, Abby has still accomplished nothing.
