We lived here for a year. Our unit was nice but we had lots of issues with rotting wood etc. However the office staff, esp the manager was always unfriendly and unwilling to help with any issues (unless potential customers were around and then she suddenly became nice and professional haha.) When we moved out I spent 7 hours cleaning every spec, every base board, fridge in and out etc until it was completely spotless so we'd get our deposit back. I've lived in 13 different apartments and have NEVER NOT gotten my deposit back. Hillmeade refused to give us our money bc we "hung things on the wall" (as in one small oval mirror in the guest room, one larger mirror in the kitchen to cover the breaker box and a picture in the guest bathroom.). I have never been more shocked and angry! Had I known they had every intention of keeping my deposit anyway I wouldn't have cleaned esp for so long. Don't expect to get your money back because they WILL find a way.
