London Calkins

I moved into this apartment in September, and we've had nonstop issues since day one. A week after moving in, we noticed our sink was leaking, the door to the laundry room fell off, and the heat in our daughter's room didn't work. We put in a service request, but the repair guy said it was "a little better," though it still doesn't work. Then, there's the animal policy. I have health issues and got approval for my emotional support dog, providing three letters from my doctor, but each one has been deemed insufficient. I can't easily go to the doctor because I used to live in Yuba City. They initially said it was okay to have fake grass on the patio and to clean up after our dogs, but then I got another notice, and the manager rudely denied ever saying that. They've also complained about our dogs barking and me yelling at them to come inside. Would they prefer the barking? My husband is in the military, and we want to break our lease, but they want us to pay two months' rent. Seriously? Someone who's serving the country deserves better treatment. We're also being blamed for our puppy using the bathroom on the patio, even though we clean up immediately. Meanwhile, other tenants don't clean up after their dogs. We've been living here for four months but were gone for two weeks in October, three weeks in November for my daughter's surgery, and all of December for her health issues. How are we getting so many complaints when we haven't even been here?
