First and foremost, expect to lose the majority of your security deposit. They charged my apartment on move out nearly $150 for "scuff marks" which is clear normal wear and tear and I have never encountered another landlord charging tenants for something such as that. They tried to charge us with all sorts of other things, most of which I was able to get removed with a lot of hard work, however I would imagine most people would end up getting charged for these without knowing. Secondly, there is 0 parking near most apartments. You can park on the street but face steep fines for street cleaning if you are not super careful. You can pay a ton of money for parking spots, but if you dont select the 'covered' spot which costs more they will either put your spot far away or like me you end up next to a dumpster with animals living on your car due to 'limited spots' even though most spots seem to be open. Lastly, shortly after moving in next to a pool and hot tub, they decided to remove the hot tubs due to it being 'too expensive', so we ended up not being able to use the amenities for the majority of the year as they were under construction. All in all this place is a huge money grab. the apartments are the cheapest in calabasas but after all the expenses, Avalon down the street would have been a much cheaper and more quality choice.
