Do you enjoy lies, awful customer service, and throwing your money into a blender and watching it churn into oblivion? Then you've found your new home, courtesy of Malibu Canyon Apartments! This place is a joke and a SCAM. DO NOT MOVE HERE. I cannot stress this enough. I created a yelp account purely to save you time, frustration, and money. I won't even go into detail on all the insane things they did prior to our move in (should have paid attention to these massive, flailing red-flags and firework show), but here's the gist: -They lied, lied, lied. Pricing, locking in rates, delaying move in date, utilities, charging incorrect amounts that we did not authorize, etc. The list goes on and on. Document and have physical copies of absolutely everything you do with these people. Documents conveniently go missing. Moving out: They will charge you to replace carpets with no damage. They claim pet damage, I assure you, there is ZERO "damage" to those carpets. This costs $550 of your deposit. What a coincidence that just about every weekend you'll see carpets on the sidewalk ready to replace like-new carpets in the apartments (scam much?). They will charge you to paint the whole apartment regardless of damage/dirt. So I guess feel free to destroy the walls, and let your kids paint and crayon to their heart's content. Normal cleaning is the only legitimate thing they charge for. If you already live in this dung heap do yourself a favor and take pictures of EVERYTHING before moving out, and I highly suggest doing the final walk-through in person. Speaking of dung heap, you'll get refreshing whiffs of sewage while living here from the northern tip of Malibu Canyon & Sewage Smell Inc., all the while cockroaches roam free at night like it's the apocalypse. Seriously, do yourself a favor and avoid this awfully managed money pit. You may not realize just how happy you are that you decided to live anywhere else, but I assure you, you will be so, so happy. I recommend checking out Avalon Apartments (there's one just a couple miles south), we moved to one and it is our Knight in Shining Armor. On a side note, the maintenance staff is truly amazing and actually care about the people who live here. That's the only good thing one could say about this... "place."
