Just saw a rat running through my living room. 2nd time in 2 years! According to other residents, we are not the only ones dealing with this problem!! I really like living here when things are good, but when things are bad -it's horrible and I cant take it anymore!!! Bad - 2 times my apartment was flooded due to a fault of a neighbor, not ours. They forced us out of the apartment both times and displaced us for at least 1 week each time. Initially management refused to provide alternate housing/pay for hotels, offered absolutely nothing and directed us to contact the insurance company. We really had to fight tooth and nail (even emailing the CEO of Aimco) to even get our rent prorated for the period we were displaced, and we know that most people do not even get that. Very stressful experience. Bad - 2 times in 2 years, we find a rat in our apartment! First time, my wife saw a live rat in our toilet bowl (we have a picture to prove it!). Just now - saw a rat run across my living room and had to kick it out through the front door. I cant stand rodents!!! There are also massive standing water puddles everywhere in the garage and it never gets fixed quickly. Good - building is pretty quiet and walls are pretty insulated except for the wall sharing the hallways. Double-pain windows are good too and prevents outside noise. Good - apartment building is always being cleaned. So how do rats get in here? I think it's because it floods all the time in different parts of the complex and the standing water attract rodents during hot days. Staff - this is a very large complex with many tenant requests. They can't service so many tenants, it's virtually impossible. This is why this should not be called a luxury apartment because they cant give you personal attention.
