Beware: Hidden Penalties, Poor Communication, and One More Thing (But So Important) I recently extended my lease for an additional two months beyond the original term. I believed that it was clearly understood that the extension was only for those two months. Naturally, I planned my move-out according to this two-month cycle and notified the management accordingly. However, I was charged a 21-day penalty amounting to $3,264 for not providing a 60-day notice, which seems excessive and unreasonable. As a customer, I had every reason to believe that the two-month extension was well-communicated and understood by both parties. If a 60-day notice was still required and failing to provide it resulted in such a significant penalty, this should have been clearly communicated to me. Instead, I found out about the penalty only when I received the move-out statement. Additionally, I was charged $650 for not removing stickers from the refrigerator door and for a small dent at the bottom. While I consider this minor, it's something future tenants should be aware of when living here. And one more thing, but so important: make sure to check the kitchen hood in the unit you're moving into. The kitchen hoods here are not vented outside, which means cooking can be quite challenging and frustrating. This issue significantly impacted my living experience, as it made cooking at home almost impossible due to poor ventilation. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their communication and policies to avoid such issues in the future. (Lastly, If possible, you need to extend the period for picking up packages. Charging a penalty of $10 per day for not picking up within two days seems excessive.)
