I have lived at park towne place for over a year and half and I just renewed my lease for another 18 months, so there must be some good things about this place. I will start with that. The apartments are spacious and the price is decent for the quality. The appliances are all modern and up to date. The maintenance crew are amazing and super helpful. I have had several common issues such as the dishwasher not working one day and they either fix it themselves or contact the manufacturer for you to get a repair person out. And the response is quick. There is a grocery store, salon and doggie daycare inside the building. This was nice before but especially in these times having these things without needing to go out is good. There is even a shuttle bus that goes from the building directly to HUP, CHOP and other places in university city. And this is where the problem starts and why I am giving 2 stars. We all just found out 2 weeks ago that the shuttle is being removed on January 1st so if you decide to move in after that date, it will be gone by then. All the electric charging spots are taken and there are no plans to expand, so if you have or planning to get an electric car there isn't a place to charge it. Near the beginning of the year they shut down the grocery store for several months again with little notice. Basically, all the amenities that are what make this place great are subject to be immediately removed without notice. I would like to think these recent changes are only due to the pandemic, but last year in 2019 they reduced shuttle service; there used to be two buses going east and west of center city. Now there is only one. So, if you are thinking of moving in and you feel like the price and location are good enough then go for it. It is a good location with a target and whole foods right across the street. Again I want to be clear, I think it's still a good place to live. However, if you are making your decision based off the amenities I would recommend reconsidering if it's still worth it if the amenities were taken away. And they won't tell you when you are signing your lease if there are plans to get rid of anything. I had no idea when I was renewing. Oh yeah as they remove the amenities the rent prices are not going down.
