Pros: good location, close to green line and red line stations. Quick and high-quality maintenance. Cons: 1) the ceiling fan in the bathroom cannot be turned off. It starts working about every 20 minutes, and each time it will keep running for nearly 30 minutes. I was told when I moved in that whenever the light is on the fan will work and when the light is off, the fan will stop working afterwards, which is apparently not true; 2) the tofu factory across the street has a large garbage truck picking up tofu waste every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday morning. The loading of the tofu waste will start at 7am which causes huge noises. BTW, the truck will arrive between 4am to 6am in the morning so be prepared for the beep noises caused by the truck when it arrives 3) The construction next to the building on Rogers St is causing excessive noise from 7am to 3pm on weekdays. 4) the building manager Tyler is not responsive to emails. I have to go to the lobby to encounter him several times (interestingly, he knows why I am there before I start speaking so it means he reads my email but decides to do something else instead of an instant reply) 5) The move-out experience was horrible. I contacted the building management 2 weeks before the scheduled date for the moving company, and confirmed with them that I reserved one of the elevators. During the moving day, no elevator was reserved. 6) I scheduled the move-out inspection to be at 10am on my move-out day. I waited until 11am and no one came. While waiting, I went to the lobby several times and no one was there. Called the office multiple times and no one answered. Finally, the building manager Tyler showed up and told me that their service manager was busy. So what is the point of the appointment? It seems that they have a hard time understanding the concept of 'appointment'. 7) After move-out, I received a bill requesting me to pay for the drywall damage, oven/top damage, and a $150 cleaning fee. During the move-out inspection, I was told by Tyler that everything looked good. They are holding my $500 security deposit and charging me more. I've sent several emails to AIR management and the Prism building management and this is the response I received from the 3rd email I sent out: "Regarding the cleaning fee, our policy requires that all apartments meet specific cleanliness standards at move-out. To ensure a high standard of cleanliness for incoming residents, professional cleaning is necessary. Our requirements are listed on the move-out instruction guide." To summarize: noisy area, horrible building management, ridiculous charges imposed after move-out. Just think twice and read the recent reviews from which it seems that many residents have the same/similar experience.
