After living at Royal Crest Apartments for the last 7 months, here is my review. Pros: Royal Crest Offers spacious apertments that offer plenty of room. The macitence team is awesome, Gary in particular, and the the leasing staff is very friendly and open to any questions or concerns. The property is well-kept in the spring and summer, and the complex offers some really nice gas grills with cook stations that many residents don't seem to take advantage of unfortunately. Convenience could never be better as the Apartments are right on the Massachusetts border and easy access to Rt. 3 and shopping on D.W Highway. Cons: The parking is absolutely horrible. I have to pay 15 dollars a month for a spot and do not get a parking space if I am not home before 7 p.m. It is clear that Royal Crest does not have enough paring spaces to accommodate all their residents. In addition, Ive noticed multiple scratches in my brand new truck due to the parking and tight spaces. When I inquired about renting a carport/garage, none were available near me. In addition to the parking, the main entrance in the building is filthy, disgusting and smells. There is paint peeling everywhere, wallpaper peeling, frayed carpets etc. I am embarrassed to bring friends and family into my house because I don't want them to see the main entrance. I was also lied to saying that the main entrance would be renovated within the month upon moving in which was September. The gas bill is ridiculous due to the gas not being metered to each aprtment. I barely use my heat and the apartment stays warm year round. I often have my windows open and my gas bill ranges to run around 50 dollars a month when I barley use my heat. Also for the utilities like gas, water, trash and sewer, Royal Crest links these together using Conservice. Due to using this service, they make us pay the stupid five dollar service fee eveymonth with no other option to pay. I would pay with a check for these utilities to avoid the stupid fee every month if I could. Overall, I've been having a fair stay at Royal Crest, considering it's my first apartment. I do not however believe that it is not worth what I am paying for and therefore have so many cons about the apartment. Tara Heights down the street offers a newer complex for around the same price with way nicer amenities. If I wasn't in a rush to relocate here for work, I would have most likely ended up there. Also, after receiving my renewal notice, I strongly believe that Royal Crest is not in the situation to be raising their rates as it is already pricey enough, and with there being other competition around with better rates.
