There were some things that were good about this building. It's in a great location in Brickell. My apartment had a beautiful ocean view and it was remodeled and in great condition. The building was clean, and the staff was very nice. One thing that I hated was that the elevators broke pretty often. I lived on the 24th floor so I couldn't just take the stairs. The move-out was a nightmare. I reserved the service elevator a week ahead of time. Since a couple of days before the move two of the four elevators were not working, including the service elevator. I went to the front desk multiple times to check on the status, and nobody knew when they would be fixed; sometime between Tuesday and Friday. There was a schedule that showed all the reservations of the elevator and the reason, so it was clearly stated that I was moving out on that date, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one. The morning of the move, I went downstairs again, and it still wasn't working. I texted the building manager directly to see what I could do. He was on vacation, so I got no response. In the end, we managed using the other elevators and fortunately because of the time, not a lot of people were home. Of course, it did take longer than planned. This building is not cheap, and the tenants' experience should be a priority. They knew that there were people that needed the elevator, they should have pushed at least for that one to be fixed on time or offered a solution when I asked. As if that wasn't enough, the day after I moved out, I spent 3 hours cleaning the apartment knowing that otherwise I would be charged for it. I waited for the furniture to be out so that I could get to every tiny corner. When I got my final bill, I was in fact charged for cleaning, as well as painting, a total of over $400. There may have been one or two spots on the walls, but the lease clearly states that regular wear and tear is considered, and I was only there for a year. When I moved in, I had to do a lot of cleaning myself, specially the greasy cabinets around the stove. I decided not to argue, life goes on, but I learned my lesson. Like I said before, it's a nice building with nice apartments, but elevators break often and don't expect your security deposit back unless the apartment is better than when you moved in.
