I have been a resident at Yacht Club for over two years, and I would not recommend choosing to live here, particularly during the pandemic. The construction noise from updating apartments in the building is out of control. It happens every week, at least one day per week, and it sounds like there is a jackhammer in your own apartment, even if the construction is in a separate part of the building. The noise is so bad that I have had to reschedule meetings because I cannot hear. The construction has been going on for over a year, and it is unclear when it will be finished. It makes it impossible to work from home. Additionally, mask and social distancing policies have not been adequately enforced; signage reminding residents about these policies is limited to the first floor, when it should be posted on every floor and in the elevators. Likewise, this is a no-smoking building, and yet it's rare that I can sit on my balcony and not smell cigarette smoke. I have had cigarettes dropped onto my balcony on multiple occasions. The AC and elevators have repeatedly broken down. On a positive note, the maintenance and cleaning staff members are very friendly and attend to issues quickly. The view of the bay is also very nice. If it weren't for the view, we would not have renewed our lease.
