I lived at the Yacht Club for 12 months (June 2012-June 2013). The Pros of the building was the outside pool, balcony views of the ocean and the location. The cons were the smell of marijuana every time I got off the elevator on my floor (30th floor) and management. My car was dented in the garage while parked over night in my assigned space. I contacted the front desk, made an official complaint and found out that there are no cameras in the garage. Nor was I ever contacted by management regarding my complaint. I called the assistant manager, Juan and his response was "You have insurance and thats what its for". I was furious of his unprofessionalism. Ok, so I took care of the damage myself and just paid to remove the dent. My biggest complaint is the unprofessionalism by management of the buidling regarding the security deposit. Management produced a new document pertaining to damages and charges upon vacating the apartment for all tenants. I received this new form mid-term of my lease. The charges can be any little mark, scratch and further ridiculous attempts to retain a portion of the security deposit. Keep in mind that I traveled back and forth from New York and Miami routinely and spent maybe half of the time in Miami for the year. Also, I had the apartment professionally cleaned including the carpet even though I never wore shoes inside the apartment. I even took pics of the apartment on June 9 knowing that management would react in an manner to keep a portion of my security deposit. As expeccted, upon vacating the apartment on June 10 I was charged $400 for cleaning and other ridiculous charges. I met several of tenants during my lease that felt the same way as I do about management at this building.
