I never write reviews, but I have to warn those who are considering living here, because it's not the luxury it claims to be. 1. There are rats. You can smell them in the lobby, and hear the scurrying in the ceiling. 2. We had a large leak into our apartment from a pipe explosion above, and it was very much unlivable for a month. We had no hotel compensation, and had to beg for them to give us a month compensation on rent. The situation was handled incredibly poorly, the leasing office did not do anything to make the situation better nor seem to care. 3. During this leak, Trusew entered our apartment without our permission. We were not home at the time, and never consented to workers and apartment staff entering without someone home. He touched and moved around my roommates stuff, and we still do not know why that occurred to this day. As three college students (women) sharing this apartment, we no longer felt secure in Vaughan place. As stated, we never gave consent to have anyone from the building enter our place without us home. This was violated, and when we confronted Trusew, he denied the situation, and said he had spoken to one of us, but "couldn't remember who". This was extremely disturbing and unprofessional. 4. The gym always has broken equipment. 5. The pool is never open because the new company will not find a lifeguard. 6. Our toilet, washing machine, and freezer were broken almost the entire year here. We constantly had to have maintenance come, and it was clear when we moved in they did not do appliance checks as they claim. 7. Maintenance never comes when you want them to. They come when they please. This makes getting things fixed extremely difficult. 8. For most of the year, we had our upstairs neighbor doing construction, and the banging could always be heard above us, and often woke us up and caused disturbances. This is just a short list of the issues we have had this year at Vaughan Place, and the end as the lease is almost up.
