The apartments themselves are beautiful, and you want to rent right after you find the place. There is a Giant, CVS, and four or five high quality restaurants within walking distance. Wisconsin Ave. is right there, so you are close to bus lines and the Metro. What nobody will tell you is that the construction of the buildings and units away from the main building is seriously shoddy. Paper thin walls. Be prepared for noise! And many of the people who rent here are college students or just out of college, so prepare for a neighbor or two who parties and with the thin walls-- being kept up to 3AM in the morning, or later, depending on when they will allow you to get to sleep or tire themselves out and want to sleep themselves. And don't expect the management to do much of anything. I complained and was told simply that I should not expect to be free from any noise whatsoever. That was hardly what either I or my other quiet-seeking neighbors have ever asked for. We just want what is considered normal when it comes to noise. My noisy neighbor lives above me. As it turns out, his NEXT DOOR neighbor is moving to get away from the noise. And when I talked to management, they told me that there had been two previous complaints against the same neighbor that was causing others and me to complain and move out. Management did absolutely nothing for any of us. If you are quiet and work hard at your job and add to your community, this is NOT the complex for you. If you are just out of college, work in some marginal job, party all the time, make a lot of noise, and have little regard for anyone but yourself, check out Vaughn Place right away! They will expedite your application and waive a fee or two.
