This is the worst apartment building I have lived in. I have lived in 7. I would do anything you can to stay away from this building at all costs. While there are more than a dozen infuriating reasons that this is the worst apartment building, I'm posting about the cost saving heating and air conditioning policy this building employs. Instead of making the investment to replace the buildings windows with energy efficient windows, they have decided to implement heating and air conditioning policies that do not allow a tenant to control the temperature in their apartment. Currently outside it's 65 degrees. With the sun hitting my apartment windows it's 77 degrees in my apartment with all windows open. So I go to turn on the AC and instead of it blowing cold air, it's pumping air in at 85+ degrees. When this happened in the fall, management told me this is due to their energy and cost saving policies. That the AC only worked when it's "hot out." They fail to understand that just windows trap in heat so even though it's not hot out at 65 degrees, it's hot in my apartment. This system needs to be recalibrated immediately. If management decides to recalibrate their flawed model, I will removed this one star review. I'm sorry, this is my apartment. I should be the sole person deciding what temperature my apartment should be so that I can work productively and sleep well to be ready for the next day. Regardless of opening the windows, I'm sweating all day and all night. Additionally, the street Willard Avenue is extremely busy especially with fire trucks. Often, I get woken up because if I have the windows open. Management, would you be productive working in 77 degrees all day? First photo is the AC unit in my living room. Second photo is my AC unit in my bedroom. You're pumping 85 degree air into my apartment! This is insane.
