The following are crucial observations derived from reviews by past tenants across multiple platforms. It is imperative that you review these insights meticulously to avoid potential regrettable experiences.
Here is 11 reasons why you SHOULD NOT! consider moving into 2200 Grace Apartment Homes:
- Overpriced Units: Tenants find the cost of living in the building to be excessive relative to the amenities and services offered.
- Problematic Communal Laundry Room: The shared laundry space is described as chaotic and reminiscent of a college dorm, with residents behaving poorly.
- Parking Issues: Parking spots are frequently occupied by non-residents, creating inconvenience for tenants.
- Nosy and Rude Neighbors: There are reports of neighbors making false complaints leading to unwarranted fines.
- Unresponsive and Rude Management: The building manager, Anthony Demasi, is cited for unprofessional behavior, including yelling at tenants, not addressing maintenance issues, and implementing unjust fines based on accusations without proper investigation.
- Elevator Malfunctions: Both elevators in the building are reported to be frequently out of service and malfunctioning, sometimes trapping occupants for minutes at a time.
- High Utility Bills: Tenants have complained about steep monthly charges for utilities such as water, gas, and server costs.

Reviews for 2200 Grace Apartment Homes
Got a callback for my message and they scheduled a tour for a week later. Then when I showed up for the tour no one had shown up and no one answered my calls for 30 minutes. Then I get a call from the office saying they had no idea a tour was scheduled and that they did not have any apartments available in that building. They then tried to recommend another apartment and when I was in the middle of asking for more details they hung up on me. Thanks for wasting my time. Edit: contrary to what they responded with below, they did not circle back, nor do I care or want them to.
We have been living in those apartments for 3 years now, longer than anyone ever had. There are many dogs they pee on elevator always. And our manager, Anthony Demasi /Tony is horrible. When anything doesn't work at our apartment we call him to fix it. Because we pay 40$ a month for his service. He cannot fix it plus he yelled at us. He has such a horrible attitude. Today he towed our car just before moving out. PLEASE FIRE HIM!!!
Do not live here unless you really have to. The washing machine room is atrocious, half the time the machines don't work, or takes your money, and doesn't wash or dry your clothes. Also they have no cameras in the washing machine room, and people have stolen my Laundry out the machine. There is always something wrong with the elevators. The elevator closet to my apt unit didn't work for 3 and a half months! Some of the the neighbors are friendly, but most of them are not, and they litter everywhere on the community. There is also a strict no smoking policy, which is understandable. My neighbor accused us of smoking in our apt unit, and we got fined for it. Nobody in my apt smokes. Didn't even come in the apt to look for evidence. Just fined us. You can't even smoke on your balcony. What the point to having a balcony then? I've hardly seen anyone use their balcony. Would not recommend anyone ever living in this apt building. Aimco is a terrible company. The only redeemable thing about this building is the Building Manager Anthony, he was always very respectful. Can't say the same about his employer.
This place has bed bugs all through out the building. People throw beds out everyday and furniture.
I have been living here for one year and two months now. This place is horrible! -leaking windows and the bathrooms are old and moldy disgusting and small!!!! it gets very cold in the winter and in the summer the ac is on 24/7! Very loud and noisy! You'll hear the dogs all over the building. Neighbors smoke weed! Very crowded! Kitchen very old and small with leaking ceiling!!!! The washers do not clean well! The floor is old and dirty no matter how you clean it's disgusting. Our agent lied to us about so many things! We waited so long for a playground and after they've put one it's terrible. Not children friendly
"Hello, I strongly recommend 2200 Grace Apartment Homes and Yorktown Apartment Homes. From student life to professional life, I have been there in different cities and in different properties but nothing is like 2200 Grace Apartment, I feel blessed and home away from home. Even after some strict words against management people Stacy, Debi, Dana they always been nice and calm to resolve all issues as soon as possible. Also, this Property management always get together with people and celebrate all major festivals and parties. The best part I like was the pool party in Yorktown where we get food and free beers. Best Property ever." My review was good before as you can see above but now I have to change it due to elevator issue. Everything is great but on the other side I must say I have seen worst elevator in this building till now. Worst than anything elevator in the whole Universe, it works awkwardly. It stops anywhere between two floors for 3-4 minutes and door won't open. Its feel like its going to free fall. Also when you reach at your floor, door won't open till 5-10 minutes and you will be trapped inside. I am worried what if senior citizen trapped inside like this. Its too much risky. Inspection certificates was expired when I looked at it in elevator then after some days there are no inspection certificate in elevator. When I was live in downtown on 18th Floor, that elevator went up on 18th floor quickly like in just few seconds and this elevator takes forever to reach even on 3rd floor. Because of elevator I gave only 1 Star. I complained many times before as well but there is no permanent solution from the management to get it fixed or replaced. Elevator should be much more faster, its too slow and unreliable.
Very high bill's. Each month 95$ for water 95$ Server. 90$ gaz. When you live out they will change you more than 500$. Winter time you have to cover widows
Because you are ripping people off . Lying about the actual rate . People avoid this place if you can. They lie about everything.
Overpriced for what they offer. Apt unit was nice, but the communal laundry room was a nightmare, you'd think you were living in a college dorm. Except most people living here were adults with family, you'd be appalled how they acted in the laundry room. Parking was horrendous, people who didn't live there always took the spots. Neighbors are nosy, and rude. They will make false complaints about you, and the manager Anthony Demasi will fine you based on an accusation, and not a logical investigation with hard evidence. Both Elevators would be broken for months on end. Would never recommend any person I know a Aimco rental property. Save yourself some hassle, and don't move here. Guarantee you'll find another place after living here. I know I did.
Totally unprofessional. Scheduled a viewing through text message. Showed up, no leasing office to be found. Texted the number who scheduled the appointment and was given the wrong number. When I got the correct number no answer after calling several times. Waited 30 minutes and no one called nor did they show up for the tour. Do not waist your time. Pass them by.
Due to covid you must remain in your car and wait till they call you to let you in.I recommend driving around the lot if your early b/c you cannot come in until your on the dot appt time. Looking at this location it is not a place for kids. All corners are busy streets. There's a hill and a busy street. There are no slow down signs for any running kids or safety. Parking is not assigned and there's a lot of it so that's a plus. When you walk in they talk about the mail system & everything smells so good and it looks so clean. The elevator is tiny! I asked....how do you get a couch or tables in here. They said they can remove the ceiling of the elevator to accommodate. My thought was....Basically just get everything from ikea and do not get anything bigger than 5x5. There is no space for 4 adults and a dog in the elevator it was just too cramped. (There was a tenet & her dog in the elevator with us)Got to the apt....I could hear children screaming & people yelling. The doors were kicked in, scratched, looked like hell. At least there was a cleaning crew washing the floors. When I entered the apt, the floor was so uneven that there was a hill in the bedrooms. They said it was due to construction. The windows are older styled didn't have good installation and you could hear the wind come through. They said it was due to the height of the building Bc it sways and the windows need to breathe. The best part was all the closets. Large amounts of storage but the overall place was tiny. For the amount they are asking the place didn't match the cost. If you want to be close to the expressway, ample parking & don't care about noisy neighbors or being ripped off this would be a great place to visit. I do not recommend it for anyone with kids
The manager Tony was extremely rude on our last day of lease. It was as if he was showing his true face on our last. Didnt expect that at all. They also charged us some ridiculous amount of fee when we were moving out our stuff. I think the location and apartment is great but the management is very poor. Elevetor was broken every other week.
