Detailed Information for Bank and Boston Lofts Apartments

Exercise extreme caution when considering properties listed by the horrible company “AIR Communities” on rental platforms. While their promotional visuals might appear enticing, prospective tenants should be forewarned of a multitude of hidden fees. Beyond the baseline rent, there are significant charges for amenities such as parking, water, and mail services, which often require an additional subscription. The following are crucial observations derived from reviews by past tenants across multiple platforms. It is imperative that you review these insights meticulously to avoid potential regrettable experiences.

Here is 10 reasons why you SHOULD NOT! consider moving into Bank and Boston Lofts Apartments:

  1. Pest Issues: Numerous reviews mentioned problems with pests. For instance, there were complaints about additional charges, even after paying for services like pest control.
  2. Management Concerns: Several tenants indicated issues with management, mentioning the lack of amenities, high rent, and suggesting that other newer buildings in downtown Denver offer more value.
  3. Safety Concerns: Some reviews raised safety issues, noting that the city’s conditions have declined, making it unsafe to leave or enter the building after certain hours.
  4. Parking Challenges: Many complaints highlighted the lack of amenities and parking, with the location being the only significant positive.
  5. Upkeep Difficulties: Many complaints pointed out problems with the building’s age, such as loud rattling pipes that weren’t addressed by maintenance.
  6. Unexpected Fees: Many complaints revolved around hidden fees, with tenants being quoted one amount and then being charged another for utilities.
  7. Communication Barriers: A few mentions highlighted poor communication from the leasing office, especially regarding problems with neighbors or amenities.
  8. Staff Behavior: Many complaints described the behavior of certain staff members as rude, condescending, and sometimes even intimidating.
  9. Sanitation Issues: Many complaints mentioned issues like being quoted one amount for utilities like water and trash but being charged another.
  10. Noise Concerns: Several tenants mentioned disturbances, with some attributing the noise to other tenants and others attributing it to building issues.

Given these points, it’s essential to conduct thorough research and consider all factors before making a decision to move into any apartment in Bank and Boston Lofts Apartments

This place is GARBAGE!! I toured there and the Leasing guy was very nice but that apartments are not what you expect. They have appliances from the 80's that are dirty white and pieced together with glue. The ceilings have patches and holes in them and they tell us its for "Historic Feel". It just looks bad. The Boston building is just HORRIBLE! Two of the floors smell like dead animals and the common areas have this beat up carpet from when the building was built! . The buildings are just too old an an everything in them matches the age. For the price the wanted, to offer Zero amenities, NO PARKING , no Stainless steel, no in unit washer and dryer, no modern cabinets or appliances the company must be crazy and really hard up for cash. The location is good if you don't mind the homeless and the two alleys that people sleep and use the bathroom in. My advice go up the street to a new apartment that offers specials, parking and all the upgrades you really want. Besides the staff (Which I feel sorry for), there is no reason to move here and i didn't.

AVOID THIS APARTMENT BUILDING. This has been one of my worst apartment experiences thus far. The leasing office lacks communication or help with problems with neighbors or amenities. If you decide to live in the Boston building make sure to have an extra budget for outside laundry service. After complaints of damaging and staining my clothes the solution from the property management team is for us to find a laundry service and pay out of pocket. They have no patience or sense of responsibility of the amenities we were sold on during our showing of the apartment. If you don't want to sleep during your work week (Monday-Thursday) then this is the place for you. If you want your car to be broken into at the parking lot closest to the building that you pay $200 a month then this is the place for you. I am counting down the days till my lease is over. This place sucks.

DO NOT LIVE HERE! Management are rude and disrespectful and do not care about their tenants, only money; they will screw you over. The lease agreements are just another way for AIMCO (the corporation that owns manages these buildings) to screw you out of thousands of dollars if you decide to break your lease, and are completely insensitive to extenuating circumstances. These buildings overcharge their tenants a ridiculous amount for terrible kitchen appliances, small spaces, awful heating and cooling systems and don't offer free laundry despite the extremely steep price. The elevators are always breaking, as are the laundry machines and apartment amenities. It always smells like burnt toast and weed. Street noise will keep you up all night and there is no parking - every lot nearby is 200+ a month. You're better off leasing outside of downtown where you can find friendlier and nicer apartments with more space for half the price.

First off I am going to start out with the location. The location is awesome, if you like not being able to go out without getting begged for food or money or anything for that matter. There is no working deals with any of the local parking garages that allow tenants to park for less than $200 a month. Good luck figuring that out. Also if there is any event going on anywhere near the 16th street mall you wont be able to get in or out of your parking garage even if you have one. Second lets talk about the building. First it is old, run down and stinks half the time. The maintenance does a good job of responding to service calls but make sure you request it online because if you have to call something in you have to spend 20 minutes describing whats going on to someone that is at some centrally located office. There are no washer dryers in most of the units so you have to use the laundry facility which is located at the bottom of the building. I ended up doing laundry at my parents house because it is actually cheaper to drive over there and pay them for the detergent and water. Also the building is advertised as a smoke free building but the entire fourth floor smokes pot. You cannot walk down the hallway without smelling it. I also spent the last month or so of my time there with my entire studio smelling like pot because it was coming through the vents which in turn started making my work clothes stink. I had no choice but to break my lease early and move out due to these reasons. Oh and now lets talk about the office. The turnover is crazy, for the near two years that I had lived here I don't remember anyone except Alice and Chelsey. Alice was great at taking care of issues that I may have had however good luck getting in touch with anyone. I would leave voicemail messages regarding things that I needed and I was lucky if anyone got to me within a week. Even then they are very quick to contact you if they need something but it is not reciprocal. I had called the office a week before I was getting ready to move out to ask if I could reserve an elevator because that is what happens EVERY time I see someone move in or out. Chelsey then called me the MORNING of the move out day just to tell me that they don't reserve elevators which I know is BS because I've seen them do it numerous times. Also during the move out process and breaking my lease I have sent emails regarding options to pay my last few months rent and still to this day have not seen a response so I am guessing that they are not willing to work with me even though I was forced to move out of this property due to the fact that it is garbage. This property is a product of this market and if you have a choice DO NOT LIVE HERE.

At first I thought the staff was nice and attentive, but the last few months of living here has been a nightmare. Once a month we have flooding issues- and I am aware the building has a lot of tenants but we would wait a week to weeks to have something fixed. BUT our last in-counter, we dealt with a HOME INVASION- where a complete stranger came into our apartment and climbed in bed with my room mate.- as scary as that was when we had to forcefully get him out, he tried to break down our door (with all this noise, no one cared) cops came- this incident was over a month ago - AND OUR FRONT DOOR IS STILL BROKEN. We're two girls who live here and we feel like our safety is involved and the office seems to not be taking it seriously at all. We have been far more then patient- with all the plumbing problem/noisy alleyway - we asked to move to another apt...but nothing was done to help until they offered us an apartment where the gentleman had to move out due to his entire apt being flooded into Bruegger's Bagels.I would not recommend anyone living here- because if you do have an incident- they might come fix your garbage disposal but if something any more then that happens, they just dont care. These have been our major issues:Flooding from the upstairs neighbors bath into our showerKitchen sink flooding-garbage disposal brokenCold air from the window cracks (solved by a horrible sealing job)Home Break in followed by our doow still hanging on by one screw and broken doorThe ceiling chipping/constantly fallingPatiently waiting repairs week after weekBeing denied lease termination after all this- especially the SAFETY issue after our break in.Also this was NOT A TENANT who came into my apartment, after the police and contacting this person via Facebook he was just visiting Denver he never lived in the building - and yes very drunk and very aggressive. Thanks for Boston lofts for absolutely zero sympathy or protection. So very glad to be out of these apartments

My girlfriend and I lived here for about a year. Our lease was supposed to end this December but we terminated our lease early. Although some of the staff was friendly and tried their best, it felt like not all of the staff did. I'm giving a 1 star for the following reasons: 1.) Our AC was broken in the summer for over 2 months. Maintenance would show up and say they fixed it, just for it not to be fixed. I believe it took about 5 visits before they finally fixed it. Several times they told us they would just order a new unit and replace it, which did not end up happening until the weather wasn't so hot. 2.) We lived next to a man who sold heroin and would have to walk past sleeping addicts in the hallway, and find poop in the trash shoot room. The resident was eventually evicted, but we never heard any official word from Bank and Boston, and had to hear all of this from other residents. 3.) We could not reserve any elevator during moving. 4.) Elevators broke often, and 1 of the 2 near us were broken 90% of the time. 5.) The community washers and dryers broke often. 6.) the entire 4th floor (ours) stank all the time. It smelt like poop and death. 7.) Until recently our mailbox door was broken and slightly open. 8.) Even though lockers were installed in the laundry room for mail, the delivery people hardly left packages in them, and just left them outside the door of the laundry room. 9.) All lot of homeless people linger outside of the building 24/7 and pee. 10.) People's dogs always peed in the elevator 11.) We were not notified of a re-painting fee we would have to pay on move out. 12.) The internet was butt. We could only get 12mbps max (it would usually not reach this speed) because the building is so old. I am a software engineer and this was a big deal for me. 13.) The water in the bathroom always stank, which we never could get fixed. 14.) It was a hassle dealing with Aimco when trying to terminate our lease. Somewhere along they had messed up the date of our move out, and even sent us emails telling us that we would have to pay another $2000 than we were already paying to end our lease (which was already a lot). Eventually we got it sorted out, but it was not a good time. 15.) While some staff was helpful and understand, some of the staff was snotty and rude. 16.) Our Post Move-out inspection guy was late. He was very nice and it didn't seem like his fault, it seemed like he was double booked. 17.) The windows to the apartment didn't cancel out much noise. Being by 16th street, it was often noisy. Our new place (not bank and boston) is across the street from 3 buildings with construction and the windows completely cancel out the noise. 18.) The entrance doors weren't very secure. A man off the street once followed my girlfriend into the building, followed her onto our floor, and tried to follow her into our apartment. Being on 16th street, it would be nice to have a doorman or some form of security. Maybe it would also help if there weren't a bunch of creeps always hanging out at the entrance. These are just the things I thought of off the top of my head. I feel like there were more bad experiences in this building, but I feel all of these points should have been addressed sooner/at all by staff. It's annoying that I can find so many things wrong with my experience at B&B, and we still had to pay such a high termination fee. It felt like the building managers don't really care about details like the stink in the building, internet speed, or even the cleanliness of the water, and even though we had a horrible experience it feels like we still had to take the loss and pay a lot just to leave. Even though we paid a lot, it does feel like such a relief to leave and live in a new building. We now live in the Union Denver, and I highly recommend it.

Management is deceptive. Building is run down. The entire perimeter of the building is surrounded by the homeless. With ZERO amenities, terrible management and high rent, you're much better off looking at all of the newer buildings in downtown Denver that have gyms, parking, roof tops, game rooms & a friendly staff. I would highly recommend steering clear of this nightmare!

My partner and I lived here for two years. Now we've moved out I wanted to share our experience. If you're considering living here, DO NOT DO IT. Here's why:- Last winter we went a full six days without heat in our apartment because we could not get anyone in management or maintenance to pick up the phone, answer our emails, or return our voicemails. - They only issued us one key card to the building, we couldn't get a hold of someone to give us a second card, and gave up and used one between the two of us for next two years. The kicker? They took $75 dollars out of our deposit for only returning one key since we couldn't prove they hadn't given it to us in the first place. - Have any issue with your unit's maintenance or billing? Good luck getting in touch with someone. Their management had at least two turn overs during the time we lived there and let me tell you, their current manager Chelsea is just as inept as the rest.- Homeless people regularly slept in our stairwells or right outside our unit. Management did absolutely nothing to address this. The apartments aren't nice enough to justify the costs with zero amenities and literally zero customer service. Live somewhere else!

I've lived here for 6 months and I hate it ! Costumer service is horrible: 1. It took me 6 months to get a spare key (even after being locked out of my place and having to pay $150) 2. It's an old building so the pipes rattle annoyingly loud; I asked for maintenance to look at them. All they did was put duct tape around the pipes, they spray painted the pipe and in the mean time, they got paint on my comforter and it was covered in dust and foot prints. 3. I came home this past Sunday to a flooded apartment after being out of town, it was 10:45 pm, I called their emergency number and no one came to help. I've been fighting with them this whole week and they've attempted to clean the mess but it's just an overwhelming smell of chemicals. They gave me a $200 credit on my rent but have yet to give me any type of money to replace the items that were damaged. Management has been extremely rude to me as if all this were my fault. 5. You'll have to put up with screaming, drunk people pretty much every night 6. Parking is a nightmare unless you want to spend $200 to park near the building 7. Grocery shopping, forget about it. Don't move in here. It's horrible and you'll have to deal with a pathetic management company (Aimco)

Hated it is right. Dont get me wrong, the apartment was beautiful. Too bad that the cover of the book was the only good part. The staff are the actual worst to deal with and they outsource to some big calling corporation so dont expect to ever talk to a real person in a problem (theyll be there at the lease signing though to take your money). I moved out and transferred my lease to another woman because it was so bad. Not only did they take new security deposits from them, they kept mine as well promising it back when they moved out. On the day the new tenants were supposed to move out they sent me an email saying ill be charged for the upcoming days because they werent out and the keys werent in. I talked to the woman who moved in for me she said they had moved out on the 20th and keyes were on the kitchen counter like they had told her to do. Now im dealing with all this, theyre keeping my deposit and am not able to get anyone on the phone to help and I havent lived there in months! DO NOT LIVE HERE.

I really wanted to move here, but I am not able to get in touch with leasing office. Little over a month ago I have scheduled viewing and was given a phone number of one of the leasing agents and was instructed to give her a call once I'm there. I left work early and when I arrived there was no one to be found. Even though this was a big red flag I've decided to give it another try. I have requested a tour a week ago and was told that I will hear from someone within 48 hours. Next day I got a text message asking if I'm still interested and I said yes.Once again I was told that I'll hear from someone shortly and of course no word from anyone... Building looks great from the outside and it has a great location, but leasing seems very disorganized and unprofessional

Do not move here. Management is some of the worst I've ever experienced. Communication is either non existent or incomplete and rude when you do get a response. For maintenance, the doors were always broken which lead to safety issues and people entering the building that were not tenant (homeless people on the street, namely). The place constantly smelled of smoke from other tenant. Noise complains were never addressed. Laundry / Dryers were always non functional or left your clothes smelling worse/damaged. Elevators were consistently non functional. My move-out experience has been HORRIBLE. Being present at move out inspection is a MUST. You will need to hunt someone down in person to have this though. PHOTOGRAPH EVERYTHING. Expect your deposit to never be returned & ~$1000 in move out fees. I can not get help or even an explanation from the building manager (I have called and emailed for days) or the parent company, they are even ruder and couldn't care less about their tenant's wellbeing or even treat you like a human. Look elsewhere and DO NOT give these people your money if you want to live in a building run by people who actually treat you like a human being

Would give negative stars if possible. Completely predatory parent company. Please read Better Business Bureau complaints on their website because the google reviews are paid for by the company. Unresponsive, unhappy, unsatisfied. I'm a reasonable person and this was an awful experience I wouldn't wish on an enemy.

I'll second what David S. has written about Bank and Boston. When I first moved in, the apartment and staff were great, particularly maintenance (Ron). But when the management changed over, it quickly went to hell. At first, it was little things: hidden fees -- Joe, with whom I signed the lease, quoted me $40-50/month for utilities (water, trash, gas, etc.), which, given what kind of unit I was renting, I found plausible, maybe a bit more. But a few months later, I found a surprise $150/month, including for gas/heat in ADDITION to what I paid with Xcel Energy. There are other maintenance issues, but I don't want to get too specific in fear of retaliation by the staff. Then came major problems. Bank and Boston is not a secure place to live. The old management supposedly had a security patrol, but I do not believe they do any longer, if they ever did. While I personally have never actually seen drug deals or dealers in the apartment complex, I don't doubt what David is claiming for a couple reasons. On weekends, there are often broken bottles, peanut shells, and other debris that litter the outside and inside of the elevators, hallways, and building. A few weeks ago, upon returning from a short trip out of town, I discovered that my complex had been LITERALLY broken into; someone had smashed the glass and PRIED the door open, bypassing the magnetic lock and DOUBLE DOORS, and probably wandered all about the building. While I understand that it's urban living, and believe it or not, I've lived in more dangerous areas, most of the individual apartment doors are secure only through a lock and key, and some of the older units have pretty flimsy doors. It would be unfortunately pretty easy for an assault or, heaven forbid, worse to occur. (And we're not in summer, yet.) That's why I'm actively looking for another apartment. Attempted break-ins in cities do occur, but it is the apartment complex's responsibility to ensure a reasonably safe environment. To be fair, Ron and his staff did fix the main door within a day, but there was absolutely no communication by the management with the tenants who, like me, were understandably unnerved. Like in David's account, I also heard shouting/screaming at 2-3am a few weeks ago and during the hours of 6-7pm only about a week ago, to the point where I nearly phoned the police. Late at night, you can hear people wandering the hallways -- some are (drunk) tenants, some are definitely not -- homeless, drunks and quite possibly, dealers. Since the homeless in the area are especially hostile toward women and foreigners, it's a ticking time bomb. Supposedly, there is a security patrol hired by Bank and Boston to prevent this type of thing, but I have neither SEEN nor MET this individual. None of the tenants, to my knowledge, have a phone number or professional access to the person whom, presumably, our rent pays to secure the building at night. Of course, they want to add a code directory outside of the building to search for tenants (for deliveries and such) -- does anyone think this is a good idea given their level of security? Why should I pay $2000+/month to stay in a place where safety is not a top priority? Finally, the management is extremely apathetic and unprofessional. Stephanie, Ron, and Joe were great, but sadly, only Ron is still working at B and B. Ron, the maintenance staff, and the cleaning lady are the only ones who demonstrate a modicrum of professionalism, service, and politeness. Some of the new/junior office staff make an effort to resolve problems, but others, including senior staff, are downright rude and condescending, and even occasionally try to intimidate tenants into keeping quiet about major problems. Although they leave messages for us (and pretend on Yelp) to "contact them with issues," i.e., ICanHelp, they either do not answer for several days or weeks, sometimes not at all. I think the fact that several of us, on and off Yelp, have complained about the same sort of issues lends credence to this general lack of accountability and professionalism. It's a shame; B and B could actually be a nice place -- it's near the tram/rail, it's in the middle of downtown Denver, is next to two of the best restaurants in town, and near several shopping malls and hiking/running trails. It's not the property or even the occasional incident. It is the management who is dragging B and B down to essentially a slum: they have shown their tenants that they DO NOT care about their safety or well-being, which is, for ANY business, a priority. If they want tenants who can afford the rent every month and take care of the property, then they should change how they conduct business. If, on the other hand, they want the wrong kind of people, then by all means, feel free to continue. Businesses attract what they present.

Save yourself from this "too good to be true" lease and sign elsewhere. Awesome maintenance staff, but the team changes monthly and AIMCO (the property group with probably one of the highest turnovers in the west) does as well. Go with a different rental group and newer property. To name a few issues here are no amenities whatsoever (even working washer and dryers), homeless people roaming the halls, extra fees out of no where, broken elevators, chipping lead paint, cheap appliance issues, cheap cabinets, and above all the property managers just prove not to care at all about tenants. Lodge all the complaints you want when you live here because there will be plenty, but trust that they only care about Yelp reviews, not the actual feedback tenants give.

The base rent is high but tolerable for the area UNTIL you realize they will nickel and dime you for everything. Your rent will not be what you agree to in your lease. They use some unknown method to calculate utilities (very vague in lease), so you end up paying way more than you ever imagined. My issues in particular is with the gas portion of the bill. When I initially moved in, i payed $5 to $47 a month just for gas. That rate increased to $86, then $118! And that is ONLY for gas, not including water, trash, sewer, service fees, etc. Keep in mind I am a single person living in a 604 sq ft unit and am rarely home. The AC/heat and range are electric-operated I believe. WHY IS THE GAS SO HIGH? I'm also paying an electric bill independently. When asked how utilities are calculated, I received vague responses that only sound sympathetic to quiet my inquiries. It feels as if they are increasing the rent through illegal means, as there is no way to confirm if these fees are legitimate or if the rental property is adding costs that should be included in the rent price and clearly listed in the lease. If their practices were legitimate, why not provide this information to their tenants? If you have money to burn and/or are coming from a coastal city, living here might seem like a steal. Otherwise, go somewhere else. My experience hasnt been horrible, but I'm not renewing either. Look around and ask detailed questions before committing to this place. I wish I had. I cannot wait to get out of here and spend my hard earned cash on things that actually matter.

I lived here for a decade. 2004 to 14. And I loved it. Pretty fairly priced, secure units that are actual lofts. Not luxury, but fun and cool. I loved being just steps from light rail, I had a great view and it was fun to have people over. The office staff was initially weird and not very nice but those people moved on and for many years I enjoyed a good relationship with the manager and agents and maintenance team. Fast forward to April of this year. We got a new manager, Clara, who Winnie told me was really great (just days before she was fired). Let's talk about Clara. Now in 2012, I started my lifelong dream of working for myself. So money wasn't as fast or as much as it had been. But I did ok. Occasionally I had been late where I never had in the past. But my plan of action was always to be upfront with the manager and let her know what my plan was, what the late fees were and the deadlines for them. Admittedly, it wasn't ideal, but it worked and I did the best I could. In May of this year I had a credit card payment come through and I used that money to pay my rent. The client had made a mistake and wanted to pay by check and cancelled the credit card payment without telling me. That money comes out of my account, right away. So rent bounced.I went to the office to speak to Clara and sat down with her, told her what had happened. She was very 'nice' in a sort of sanitized kind of way. Like someone with money treats a homeless person. She said she didn't deal with that anymore and that I had to deal with rent collections at Aimco corporate. So I called Chris, at Aimco corporate and he was really great initially. We went back and forth over a week and I told him what date I would have the money and he said he would call Clara to see if that was ok.Wait. Clara? I thought she didn't deal with that anymore. Yeah. I knew then something was up. I waited for him to get back to me like he said he would and he never did. So I called him up and he was suddenly a lot more confrontational than he had been and suggested that I 'cut my losses' or I would be evicted. I really couldn't believe that after a decade of living there, this was happening. Clara simply wouldn't say yes or no or this or that. She was completely washing her hands of it. Long story short, I was given a date I needed to be out. So I made other living arrangements as I had no choice. This was over 1 month's rent. When I called Clara to see about returning the key, she says "Well, the sheriff isn't scheduled to come out until tomorrow..."Are you kidding me? I live there for ten years and then move when asked to even though I felt it was hugely unfair and now you have the police ready to come and remove me physically from the building? She ended that conversation with "Be careful moving and take care of yourself". That was when I hung up on her.four days later I received all of the rent money that I owed plus enough for the next month and I'd have been ahead (or at least on time) going forward. Yeah. I used that to get a new place! Thanks, Clara! Throughout the whole ordeal, I realized this. And I feel silly that I didn't realize it earlier, but I had had such an amazing ten years there:Clara and Chris play 'good cop, bad cop'. One tells you to talk to the other, but nobody really cares about your situation or how to make it better. Clara, (you can tell just by looking at her. She hasn't had a new hairstyle for at least 30 years) is one of those people who is completely uninterested (because she's unable) to work outside of a set of rules. She has no capacity for interpretation, she has no ability to be creative and she has no passion for helping others or even suggesting where they might get help. All of the old staff was fired. I went in to bring Winnie some framed photos of the building as a gift for being so great over the years and that's when a very frazzled Clara came out and told me she 'no longer worked there'. It was a very ugly time. And because of them, I don't miss living there and I don't miss being downtown. I now have a yard for my dog and life has moved on.So my advice to you as a renter is, take your money elsewhere. Go and find a place where people care about their residents, where you can build a home and find friends and relationships that will serve you well for as long as you are there. The Bank and Boston is not that place. Rents are skyrocketing at the moment and buildings are full, but that always changes and you'll be able to find a place downtown that has ten times more amenities, is better secured and more modern and with people who really have a passion for what they do.People downtown used to ask me ALL THE TIME about where to live and I'd always recommend the Bank and Boston. I even took a couple of nice people up to let them see my place. Can't wait for that to happen! If you're considering it, please message me her

I absolutely hate living at this place. It feels like the aforementioned reviews specified, a college dorm. The way this place is managed is absolutely terrible. The second you do something "wrong" in their eyes they are quick to leave one of their notes on your door, but god forbid something doesn't work in the apartment building/apartment because it will take months to be fixed. (IF EVER). Paying $1550 a month, you would think this place would be better kept-up with but that's just assuming too much. I can not WAIT to move out. Don't get me started on even trying to get a hold of them, because that is another nightmare in and of itself. Specifically, don't expect an amicable or helpful conversation with Chelsey at the front office because she is just rude and not willing to help no matter what. On the other hand, I think the only enjoyable conversation I have had with a person working for Bank + Boston Lofts has been with Lauren at the front office. She actually listens and is respectful when speaking to you. (advice for Lauren: ditch this trash hole and get a job that deserves you girl) DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU LIKE GETTING VALUE FOR YOUR BUCK.

Trust the other reviews about extremely move out fees. I lived here for two years and upon move out was charged $615 in "damages." Specifically for resurfacing the stove and refrigerator as other reviews have also referenced. As "proof" the leasing office attached pictures of minor scrapes and small scuffs in pant that should be expected as any normal wear in an apartment that someone has lived in for two years. It's like they take advantage of every tenant upon move out to excessively charge them to update the appliances when it's entirely unnecessary. And it's impossible to talk to anyone. No one returns any calls or emails here.

I wish I could give them ZERO stars. This place was horrendous, not tenant friendly at all! There were many factors that play into this...First, no parking so enjoy that extra expense if you have a car.Pet deposit non-refundable.... ridiculous go somewhere else if you have a pet. They did not tell me this before I signed the lease and when I showed up the day of, they changed my lease agreement to add this fee of $300 or $350 - which you don't get, so I was unaware of this but had to do it in order to move into the place I agreed to live in... once again horrible customer care. The unit was not that great, blinds fell and were crappy, carpet smelled of old dog piss, there were holes in the kitchen where outlets should be, the elevators were broken for over 2 months, they do not respond timely and really do not care.Their lease policy of 60 day notice is outlandish and they say it once in the beginning then never remind you when they send out renewal notices. Most places have a 30 day notice... 60 days is too much time needed for notice when they do a half ass job cleaning the place before the next tenants arrive. If you give them notice anytime after the 60 day mark, each day is charged at the ((month-to-month current market rate X the # of days) / 30)! When I tried to explain that no notice was given due to being out of the country, they did not respond until nearly two months later after I saw the charge that was not explained to me...This company only cares about profits and charges high rent for a shitty place, does not respond to your requests and does a crappy job maintaining their buildings.Stay away! Whatever you do, do not rent from this corrupt establishment. You will regret it!There are plenty of awesome places in downtown Denver that offer actual amenities to their residents, Boston Lofts has none.Run away now!!!

Unprofessional leasing agents. Was visiting out of town and had appointment scheduled for noon, there was no one to let me in me i to show me around. After contacting the phone number provided and texting a robot while waiting over an hour and I just decided to leave without getting a tour. What's the point of appointment if you're not gonna have anyone to help. Waste of time!!!

I am a current resident and I can honestly say that I CAN'T WAIT TO MOVE!!!!!! I've lived in this building for almost 5 years and have had a really bad experience. I've lived with two roommates for the past 4 years and a year ago I decided to live on my own. On the day I was moving my stuff out into storage and waiting for my one bedroom to open up I was told that the old tenant changed his mind and isn't moving out.....I also found out that they knew this for a couple of days and just decided not to notify me. Luckily there was an apartment opening up on the same floor and they told me I could have that one. Mind you that I received no accommodation or anything and still had to pay full rent. I was beyond pissed! Once I moved in to my new apartment everything seemed great and i was loving it until my awesome neighbors moved in. I've complained to the office about there noise levels, there drunk friends and there party throwing every night multiple times, I would say at least 10, and had to call the cops twice on them and STILL nothing was done about it. The staff that works at this place is just the worst. Also, I've been living next to a construction zone for the past 4 months. If you like to be woken up by drills and hammering at 8 in the morning almost every day then this is a great place for you. This place absolutely sucks. I will never be living here again. Period!

Updated review after experienced living in riverfront park after living at bank and boston lofts. Summer 2015 I had bad credit and was looking to move downtown from the suburbs. That summer while searching, I found the price rang of all downtown high rises at the current rate. 400-500 sq ft for $1600 a month luxury, or 600 sq ft for 1600 a month old building no amenities. After touring places in Union station area I had taken B&B lofts as the bargain. Here is were B&B lofts screws you. They don't tell you that the building heat in the winter is a avg 120 a month. They also don't tell you that every few months throughout the year you lose water heat or no water at all due to rolling maintenance. With a 1550 a month lease, add in apartment utilities, plus building utilities, plus laundry $$. I spent a average 1700 a month no amenities. Moved to the manhattan tower and lofts summer 2016. The difference.........Same sqft(600) Rent 1450 a month, plus 25 dollar amenity fee, Building utilities in the dead of winter 50$ a month, apartment utility winter 50$ a month.washer and dryer in unit. year round hot tub and many amenities. Overall about 1575 a month.Credit score when moved in 580, Never had to put down a deposit. My point here is AIMCO preys on the struggling with intention of pulling every dime out of you to offset the 30% section 8.My advice for 2017, Downtown is overbuilding rentals. A leasing agent for one of the luxury high rises told me to watch rates closely as downtown is at its tipping point of vacancy. In other words if you are a couple with 2 kids(boy and girl) you will need a minimum of a 3bdr. Not many 3bdrs in downtown area. Most high rises don't go past 2 bdrms.

Maintenance staff (Ron) is fantastic. Management company on the other half is the most incompetent company I've ever dealt with in my life.Update: I've been living in this apartment for just over a year, my lease expires in less than three months. My AC broke for the second time in a year, it took 2.5 hours of phone calls and e-mails to get any sort of contact back from the company. I received a phone call less than 5 minutes after I made my way up to "Director of Operations" on the corporate site's list of contact numbers. Absolutely disgusting.----I spoke to 3 sales people before I moved in, 2 of them lied to me but had already left the company by the time I moved in. They didn't tell me they were leaving the company, so for a few weeks I kept following up on our e-mail chain only to later learn that the e-mail account had been disconnected. Now that I'm moved in, they don't respond to my requests or e-mails unless I involve their higher ups, even when it's something urgent like my heater not working. I am planning on buying my lease out and moving away much earlier than the duration of my lease, and I would strongly recommend you not even consider dealing with this company.

Think again before moving here. Constant problems with homeless people entering the building. They'll come in and start checking doors. I had to fight one off when my neighbor was being robbed. Old building, it gets very dusty and internet lines max out at 100mbps. That's fast enough to stream but something to think about if you're into gaming. Finally be careful moving out. Take pictures of everything. Do a walk around with management. Management will not offer to do this but it's a must! I received my final bill and they're charging me around $900 to clean the refrigerator. Basically they want me to buy a new refrigerator for the new tenant. It would cost less to replace that brand... They have a lot of turn over in these buildings and basically no amenities.

I have been living here for a few months. We find piles of dog feces and urine in the two elevators every single week. Without exception. The community manager does nothing about it. One of her employees STOLE from us when we were signing leasing papers, as though that was a normal thing. The leasing agent sold us a fake parking pass and laundry card and said these were options to save residents money. We had no idea it was a scam. This happened to several other residents, too. The community manager never apologised and there was zero follow up from her or Aimco. No signs are posted about the piles of urine and feces in the hallways but management will give residents threatening letters about smoking in rooms when they have never so much as lit a candle in their apartment. I'm a working professional who has never touched weed, and this place is wired to the nines with smoke detectors everywhere, so how could one smoke in their tiny apartment without setting them off? I really want go know why I recieved a letter written like a KGB operative was spying on me and passing false evidence to mess with me. If you have questions about any of this, feel free to email me. Update: Aimco wrote a comment promising to contact me. All lies. No one contacted me, or even inquired my email or number. I had to email them. Aimco's employees STOLE from me and they don't have the decency to follow up with me. They complained to Yelp about my review as well. Maybe they'd like to erase honest negative feedback?Update 2: I'm going to continue posting photos of the hobos, filth, rubbish, urine and feces that decorate these venerated halls.

Don't live here. Live anywhere else in the city. 1. We have the masturbating homeless guy living outside the Champa St door. 2. Don't expect your security deposit back. They'll charge you for everything including a $90 cleaning fee at the end of your lease, no matter how well you've cleaned everything. You're better leaving the place a filthy mess than having to worry about cleaning it. 3. Its been mentioned previously but is still an issue: the dog urine all over the building, inside and out, as well as on the sidewalk immediately outside. You can imagine it smells real nice in the summer. 4. This complex has 0 amenities. None. Ok, they have washers and dryers in a laundry room but the odds of putting your clothes in one that works is slim so you spend double.5. They have package lockers but the delivery men leave so many out on the counter, it's useless. I moved out a month early but didn't want to break the lease so I paid through the end of the month. I shut off the heat and ac but still had to have the account in my name. My final bill was double any other bill I received! Did someone go in and run the AC all month? Bank and Boston Lofts don't care about you, they only care about what you pay them. The only pro is the location. You're right downtown so you don't need a car.

The location is great and maintenance is great. Office staff is nice, but unhelpful. I had a neighbor with a dog that was barking at all hours of the night that took 3 months and an email to VPs at Aimco to deal with despite multiple complaints to the courtesy officer and directly to the leasing office. Walls are super thin even when it's not a barking dog. People walking and talking in halls multiple floors below are audible. Front entrance constantly smells like urine and they allow smokers to stand within 20 ft of the entrance (illegal in CO). If you live below the 5th floor, you're probably staring at a wall and have next to no natural light. Finally, when you move out, they charge you a $90 cleaning fee if you did not submit a professional cleaning receipt, regardless of how clean the apartment is as well as for the life of the paint, which is not something that landlords can charge tenants for. Oh, and they tried to raise my rent $100s in the middle of a pandemic.

We rent a loft here and have had a nightmare experience with getting our heater repaired. After 7 repair visits it is still not working. At least 2 electrical shorts, inside the wall- which can cause a fire, were found so far. It is currently mid-winter and 16 degrees outside and we have no heat. the front office people are nice, but can do nothing to help. The repair people, at least 3 or 4 different "repair" guys, come in, take it apart, test the voltages, replace a fuse, and tell me it is working. It fails within 24 hours of their visit. It emits a loud buzz/moan noise with no fan or heat. I've submitted at least 10 service requests so far. One one occasion, with the temperatures outside at 20 degrees or so, they got back to me 72 hours later. One time they actually showed up with a new heater, but the "repair" person declared that our faulty unit was working and did not install it. It failed the next day. The same thing happened last night- a repair guy showed up, tested some voltages with a meter, and declared it working. It failed again this morning. I found out today that an order to put in a new heater was cancelled because of his call to the main office. The first call regarding the heater was at least two months ago. It is still not fixed. They seem unwilling to commit to actually providing a legally "habitable" apartment/loft. I cannot recommend the Bank and Boston Lofts based on this unexplainable response to a simple request.

Had I reviewed the apartments before moving out, my rating would have been higher. The staff and maintenance were always responsive and resolved issues quickly. The apartment was spacious and the common areas were always clean. There were some issues with the washing machines leaking often. Loved that access was all keypad! If you're looking for a place that has communal space or amenities, probably not the best building. Moving out I was charged $185 for refrigerator resurfacing and $135 in cleaning fees. When I asked for proof they sent images of a streaked oven & minimal scratches on the fridge. I've seen other recent posts about excessive move out fees.

We have been living here for a month now and the staff has been very helpful. Love how quick maintenance has taken care of requests. My issue is the tenants who let their dogs urinate right at the door and sometimes in the elevator! I have almost stepped in it so many times, why is this allowed? You don't want to live here, take my word! Amico is a group that cares only about how much money they can take from you! All the monthly fees (gas, water, trash, sewer, pest control) are expensive and to make it worse at the end of your lease when you think you are free of this all there will be ADDITIONAL charges for normal wear on appliances. My additional fees were $733! $300 for small dents on the freezer door caused by the delivery guys when they delivered me a used replacement and $260 for scratches on the glass stovetop caused when I moved my skillet back and forth when cooking, and the rest for cleaning and painting and I left the place clean. I was told I had to sign a 14 month lease and I always paid my rent on the first day it was due and never complained about the inconveniences of living in a old building with lots of issues, like how unsafe it was and washer and dryers that constantly took our money. When you move out don't expect to get your deposit back because that does not happen just read the other reviews. If you do decide to live here be sure to notice everything during your move-in walk through and have them write down all things that are not right, if you don't it's a tactic used to keep your deposit.

Update: Hot water has gone out 2 more times since Feb. 1 2016- with no reply from Aimco via direct emails to regional office or the suggested "I Can Help" automated response, and NO attempt to fix the issue. I will be moving out in August, and am SURE they will leave this issue for the next tenant, just as they did for me.

What a dump. My husband and I moved here corporately and needed to find a place to live before we arrived in Denver. I viewed B&B Lofts online and they looked great, so we signed without actually seeing our new apartment (bad decision). The building has a horrible odor which is amplified in the warm weather. The exterior doors on the Champa Street side don't lock, so many mornings when I would leave for work alone in the dark, there would be homeless or drunk men passed out on the floor in the foyer blocking the doors. The apartment was beyond disgusting when we moved in even though they assured us it had been "cleaned". We put in more than one service request to have the ceiling pipes wiped down (they had about 1/2 inch of thick black crud on them that would float down into our food when we were cooking) because we could not reach them. We never received a response. The office staff rarely answer their phones and struggle to answer your questions if you actually do get ahold of them. It was well worth the money to break our lease and move somewhere a bit more civilized.

I can't wait to move out of the Boston Lofts. They've changed management here so frequently and none of them communicate new rules/lease contracts/procedures to each other. I am told one thing by one manager and then I go in and talk to the new one, Chelsea, and am told something completely different about early lease termination. Chelsea was particularly rude and not willing to aid at all in the situation this leasing company has created for me. For example, I was told I had paid (and was charged $350.00) for my new pet deposit and TWO months later, Aimco decided to add on the new $35.00 pet rent at 8:00 p.m. on the 1st of the month. In which I had obviously already paid the total by then. I got a notice on the 5th of the month via email, saying I never paid the $35 pet rent and was no being charged a late fee for an additional total of $160.00!!! This took WEEKS for them to sort out. Next example, I was told by the previous manager that the only thing I would have to comply with in order to break my lease without penalties was to give a 30 days notice and pay a cleaning fee. I went in on April 30th, 2016 to break my lease and was informed that I had to give 60 days notice and then be charged an extra months rent to break my lease!!! Three months more of paying rent! Chelsea, ever so kindly, told me I could absolutely break it earlier and tried to scam me into leaving earlier BUT STILL PAY THE 90 days fees!! As if I was an idiot, not knowing she was only looking to get me out ASAP and make double the rent by renting it out to someone else and have me still paying for it! I would NEVER recommend this filth of an apartment complex to ANYONE. It's falling apart, nothing ever works, there's homeless people in here everywhere and there are NO amenities to offer. The only GREAT thing about this place is Ron, the maintenance guy. He is truly the BEST and is there for your every need! But I will celebrate the day I'm am out of here, and pity the poor soul who ends up taking over my open place.Hi Carol W. of Bank and Boston Lofts.. I'm sorry too, that you felt the need to reiterate yourself along with every other ONE star rating given to your company in the last 6 months that you would be "contacting the general manager in this matter" and I can feel free to contact you with ANY OTHER regards or CONCERNS. Well, this would be a concern! How about you contact ME regarding your poor leasing and management issues? Wouldn't that responsibility lie on you? And perhaps you should take a hard look at the latest reviews, posted from actual residents at the Boston Lofts.. That are a majority of one star (bc you can't go less).. And quit blaming residents and asking them to reach out to YOU. How about you do YOUR job.. And take the initiative to resolve these issues and reach out to the RESIDENTS HERE that are funding your leasing office and just attempt to try to make your own residents happy. Because, so far, your ratings are showing a shotty job. And I truly hope any and all potential candidates looking to rent, take into consideration the horrendous job the leasing office will do for you here. It's worth finding another, much more credible building.

What an awful place. The management staff turns over every few months. They all claim that they care so much about the tenants, but when you need something you figure out quickly what's really going on.1. Drug addict tenants. I woke up to cries of 'Help Me!' at 3am. There was a man who lived on my floor claiming he was attacked and asking me to call 911. After I called 911, he got up, walked up the stairs and put his fist through a window. He ran off screaming. The police called and explained he was on meth, which explains more about this weird individual living on my floor. The meth head later accused me of mugging him. I went to management and told them the situation. He had also punched a woman's door so hard he broke his hand and scared her half to death. They did nothing. I ended up living in fear of the crazy meth head until he finally left. There are other drug addicts and dealers in this building as well.2. Management are thieves! I had lived at this building for about 5 years. When I moved in, management was great. They needed a $300 deposit. When I moved out, I found out I would be getting little to none of it back. They said this was in the contract I signed. I knew it was not and asked them to show it to me. They completely lied, and then told me it was in another contract. I asked for that and again, there was nothing there. At this point, mgmt stopped communicating with me. These people are thieves, and what makes it worse is that they act like I'm being unreasonable because I just shouldn't expect to get my deposit back even after taking great care of my place over the years.3. Nothing works. The laundry machines and elevators are constantly breaking. I put a white board up in the laundry room so folks could mark which ones were broken and not lose all their laundry money in broken machines. The white board was filled up, and management took it down without fixing all of the machines. They eventually got new laundry machines, and because the mgmt is so cheep, they are already breaking down. Mgmt does not help in the least with these issues, and says you have to contact the unhelpful laundry providers. What a joke!4. My girlfriend had ankle surgery and was staying with me. They have no reasonable handicap access. I explained this and they said they could not help me. It was an old building that is grandfathered into the system and they were not required to make the fix. It would have been a few hundred dollar fix. I'm sure my stolen deposit money would have been enough.5. Homeless people steeling packages. If you want to get a delivery, make sure someone can pick it up for you. Homeless people sneak into the building and steal packages ALL THE TIME. Mgmt used to hold packages for residents, but no longer. 6. Many people use these rooms as Air b&b rentals. You never know who you're living with, and they are loud and obnoxious.7. Fire alarms in the middle of the night. One of the many joys of living with drunk college kids.I have never had a worst experience. These people will be super nice when you move in, but once they have your money they just don't care. The only good thing about this building is Ron, the maintenance guy. He's helpful and polite.Do Not Live Here!

I would not recommend to anyone moving into Bank and Boston Lofts for many reasons, I will list some below. 1) I was told over a year ago upon move in the laundry room would be fixed up, it never was. Machines are constantly broken causing you to spend so much extra money on dirty machines just for a small load of laundry. 2) During my lease waiting for an elevator was how I spent half my time because at least one was broken at all times. There was a period of almost 24 hours (overnight included) that not a single elevator worked, I lived on the top floor with a senior dog terrified about if I needed to quickly exit in the night. The staff and maintenance NEVER even acknowledged or apologized for leaving the entire building with no elevator or safe exit, just emailed the next morning telling us to pay rent on time. 3) My move-out experience has been HORRIBLE. I have been charged almost $1,000 in move-out charges that I can not get help or even an explanation from the building manager (I have called and emailed for days) or the parent company, they are even ruder and couldn't care less about their tenant's wellbeing or even treat you like a human. I could go on forever. The bottom line is do not give these people your money if you want to live in a building run by people who actually treat you like a human being.

I had a tour scheduled for this morning while I am in town. Made a month ago with Tenaka via email. Showed up this morning with no instructions on how to access the leasing office. The online number does not reach anyone and does not give an option to leave a voicemail. I sent a text as instructed online and the rep responding had no records of my appointment and simply messaged the leasing team instead of calling them. After pressing, I was given a number via text and was told I call call them myself if I want. I left two voicemails and also emailed Tenaka again. I left after 40 minutes outside with no responses. During the scheduling process, I constantly had to clarify/correct details to my appointment because what I received from Tenaka was incorrect based on my interests and appointment scheduling. Based on other reviews, it appears reaching staff is a consistent issue

Edit 10/03/2018: Chelsea Wade, the old community manager who let her employee steal from residents and then NEVER apologised or addressed it while acknowledging it happened, is FINALLY gone. So this place will certainly improve. Look them up on Yelp to see the real pictures of the inside. Urine and feces covered carpet, dirty hallways and disgusting conditions. I have been living here for a few months. We find piles of dog feces and urine in the two elevators every single week. Without exception. The community manager does nothing about it. One of her employees STOLE from us when we were signing leasing papers, as though that was a normal thing. I've lived in this building since 2018. They pulled a fast one on me when I moved into a different unit in the building after breaking up with my bf that I lived with. I applied for a tax credit unit, the process took over a month and at the time of my request, they only had one unit available, which happened to be right around the corner on the same floor as my ex. I wasn't super thrilled on the idea of living so close to him, obviously. They took advantage of that when another unit opened up on the second floor, acting like they were doing me a kindness by getting me a unit further away. The reality is that the tenant was still in the process of moving out, and so I was not able to even see the unit before moving in. They knew I would jump at this opportunity in my desperation to get out of the unit I was sharing with my ex/not move to the one right next to him. It should be said that I had previously made several noise complaints about the upstairs neighbor in the previous unit, to the point where (because they wouldn't or supposedly couldn't do anything about the excessive noise) they told me I should just call the cops, which is pretty ridiculous to me since they are the property managers and therefore should be the ones taking care of such issues. Anyway, the new unit is probably the worst apartment I have ever lived in. No, it definitely is. I learned very quickly that:1) I was not going to have any kind of natural light coming into my unit for the next year, as all tax credit units apparently face the alley, which is extremely troubling as someone who suffers from depression. Poor people don't deserve sunshine, I guess.2) THE NOISE. Oh my god. Whether it be the laundry room directly below this unit, the building dumpsters below my bedroom being slammed around while being emptied by a truck at 5AM several times a week, or the homeless man that screams outside my window daily and at all hours, or people throwing their trash out at all hours (trash room door conveniently located directly outside my front door, which is heavy and slams every time it is opened) I literally cannot sleep without earplugs, but even with them, I can feel the vibrations from the heavy dumpsters being emptied or the trash door slamming. I'm sure they were aware of the level of noise in this apartment as previous tenants had to have complained, and I feel like they purposefully gave me a crappy unit because they didn't like the amount of noise complaints received by me previously, as well as knowing I was in a tight spot and in a hurry to get out of my previous unit. I feel 100% taken advantage of, and now I'm stuck in this horrible apartment because I can't afford to break my lease.Oh also, I came home from work one night around 11pm to find a homeless person charging their phone directly outside my front door in the hallway. I wrote an email the the "Community manager" about this and never got a response.Altogether, the building isn't the worst but is most definitely not the best. My specific unit, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I guess that's my punishment for making noise complaints? Either way, I will 100% not be renewing and will be letting friends/family know of my experience here. I'm sure I will also experience some sort of repercussions/retaliation upon move out for posting this review, I had previously written one and taken it down, but I see all these five star reviews (they offer a "chance to win $500" for reviews) and I feel they are deceiving. Potential tenants should know that they *might* have a good experience, so long as they pay for a non tax credit unit and on time, and don't upset the leasing staff. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the maintainence staff is absolutely lovely. They are kind, polite, prompt, and actually care about tenant issues and getting them resolved quickly.

The apartment was really great to live in. The space was cool, maintenance was prompt, efficient, and thorough, and the office staff was friendly enough in the halls- although never actually able to help with anything. However, our move out experience was pretty upsetting. During move out, we had some things stolen from us (about $1000 worth), the office never responded to our email about this. Then we were nickeled and dimed through painting and cleaning even though the painted section was pointed out when we moved in (we were told they always paint when someone moves out and we wouldn't be charged unless we painted the walls a different color) and the space was cleaner than when we moved in. When we tried to reach out to discuss all of the charges, again there was no reply. We suspect a cleaning fee was charged because cigarette smells had been leaking through our vault door into the apartment for months (to which management responded, never directly, but by sending out building wide reminders not to smoke indoors). There were also several entries to the apartment without notice between emailing about stolen items and our lease ending. Move in only if you plan to never move out.

This place was EXACTLY like the pennitientary.i walked into this building to see the unit, the first thing you notice are the old walls coming apart in the hallway then I entered what I can only describe as a dungeon. No windows in the bathroom,no windows in the bedroom, the doorways were 4 foot thick walls with holes and bricks crumbled out.the doors were old iron doors like a prison.i can't imagine living here and not falling into a awful depression.def do not recommend

I'll try and be unbiased as possible relating my experience since January 2016.Pros: 1. The aesthetics of our apartment -- high ceilings, massive windows, and exposed brick style.2. Chelsea (building manager) genuinely seems to want our living experience to be a good one and advocates the best she can for the tenants.3. Ron (maintenance guy) is phenomenal.4. Location.Cons: 1. Internet. There's only one company (CenturyLink) that will service this building to my knowledge. The TOP speed they'll quote you is 10Mbps download speed... that's some of the slowest internet in the nation. The average download speed is 55Mbps, 5x faster than what you get here. Now before you think I'm overreacting or I should be posting this about CenturyLink, I've talked to the technicians from CenturyLink and this is a BUILDING issue, not the internet company. The way I understand it is that the owners of the buildings have the ability to pay and run new lines to make the internet better, but are unwilling. So, in the meantime, if you work from home like me, enjoy Netflix in the evenings, want to shop on Amazon -- basically any normal millennial activity, you have to endure 5x slower speeds than the AVERAGE. If your life involves the internet, then this alone is almost a deal breaker for living here.2. Safety. We're able to get past this one because of the proximity the apartment is to everything, but if you value an ultra-safe living scenario, then this isn't the place for you. Earlier this year there was a stabbing outside of our building and I also hear fights outside at night on a monthly basis. It's just not the best part of town during the nights... during the days it's great. I don't blame the building for this, it's just the state of some areas of Denver right now. 3. Zero Amenities.TL;DR - Our apartment is beautiful, the internet is painfully slow and is the building's fault, and we would love to see the landlords make strategic improvements that would go a long way in us re-signing. I will re-edit my review if things change or something I'm saying is factually incorrect.

We have lived at Bank loft apartments for 3 years. It is a great location, although expensive given that there are no ammentities and no parking available. I am very disappointed with the support that we receive from the leasing office and Aimco. The leasing office hours change frequently and it is difficult to know when the staff will be available. Throughout our time here we have had many building managers, the turnover makes it difficult to depend on them for help. The manager is nearly impossible to get ahold of and did not respond to email for over a week when we had a question about rent payments. I found aimco and the front office unhelpful when I encountered a problem, which is not what I experienced earlier in our renting history here at Bank lofts. We have not posted a late rent payment in 3 years but when my recent rent payment did not go through we were charged $125 as well as a $20 fee for a "late notice to be posted on our front door" after the fee was already added to our account. I am disappointed that after a delightful 3 years I will be leaving bank loft apartments with a bitter taste in my mouth.

Three problems that make me list this place only 2-stars. 1) If you have a noise complaint management will ignore you and you will live with it the duration of your contract 2) The city itself has gone so far downhill it is dangerous to leave or enter this building after around 7-8pm 3) The laundry room is very bad and half the time the individual washing or drying machine will not work. This has been the case for the full 2 years I have lived here. The worst is on Sunday night you throw it in dryer for 1 hour, only to figure out an hour later that machine doesn't work. Move it all into another dryer and figure out an hour later that one also doesn't work - common experience around here.

LOUD, wow, like living in a subway tunnel, mixed with drunk college parties. Sales staff is super pushy, I think they are haivng trouble filling apartments, so they are very willing to cut prices, but I would not take it. Good location, but I would rather be in LoDo, nothern downtown is filled with "bridge and tunnel" types.

Don't let them fool you into a cheap deal. Their maintenance is not up to date with how old the buildings are.

I lived in the Bank building. Here are some observations:- The room was in good shape. - The electric bills were very high, averaged roughly $125 a month, and seemed to have no bearing on actual use.- During move out we were over charged roughly $600, when contacting the "Customer Care After Move Out" department about being over charged, I got absolutely no help, in fact I found the Customer Care After Move Out department to be condescending and rude. Failing to get help from the move out department, I went directly to the office at the building, and finally got someone to help (they were very helpful, and polite).-The Bank building shares space with the Magnolia Ballroom. The Magnolia Ballroom can get quite loud at times, so on certain nights I found it hard to get to sleep, if they had a party going on.Anyways, to anyone thinking about moving in, here are some suggestions:- Give 60 days noticed to vacate, as of right now everyday after 60 days will cost you $56.97 per day (not cheap!)- Be prepared to pay more than you expect for utilities (see above).Giving them two stars for the high utility bills, and the poor customer service I experienced with the "Customer Care After Move Out department". Hope this helps someone!

My favorite thing hands down is the excellent service from the Maintenance team. They are very quick to respond, and very kind. As for the folks who handle your rent payment, be advised that they are not flexible at all, they do not allow humans to make human mistakes. I attempted to pay my rent early, and the day that the company decided to take the money out of my account differed. Unfortunately at the time the office attempted to take payment, I had another unexpected payment go through before, rendering my account insufficient at that time. Just a heads up: in order to fix this, you must pay them a $20 insufficient funds fee, and give the office a certified check, which costs $5 at my bank (they disable your ability to send payment via ACH, and I chose not to pay via debit card because they charge a $30 fee). After that, they will have someone call you from a call center to let you know that your payment didn't go through, after you already have given the office your certified check, and then respond saying that they will check with the office to make sure that you indeed turned in the check, as if I lied. I've lived here for over 2 years, and have never been late on my rent. I was very upset to find out how inflexible the office was to my situation, as well as how I was treated over the phone by their phone representative. Lesson of the day: pay your rent exactly on time, not early; or intend on giving them more than you owe for rent that month.

This place is alright, although my husband and I had a sub-par experience with the leasing agents. They are unorganized, forgetful and just kind of rude! The first appointment we made to tour, they canceled because they had a "scheduling error." My husband and I had to cancel the next appointment due to him being hospitalized. They promised us they would send over a quote and never did. After we finally got to tour, Tenaka, our tour guide, was constantly on her phone. Then she called us back a few days later asking who we were, what apartments we looked at and who we toured with (either Samantha or Tenaka) then just hung up on me. I was just really surprised at the level of unprofessionalism! Really turned off to rent here!

I've lived here for almost 2 years and I am moving out. The local staff are nice and helpful. Inside the building is quiet and people tend to respect privacy. The major problem inside the building is that High Speed Internet access is terrible. I can literally see the Centurylink building but try to get any decent service in this building. Centurylink blames the building and the wiring. Comcast / Xfinity wont even touch this building, and mobile internet is limited. The elevators always have a problem but you get used to it and the stairs are a good option anyway. The price for the downtown location is too high compared to other places with more amenities and perks. Outside the building issues: 1. Parking is awful - even dropping off and picking up is hard 2. Street noise echos everything into your windows - big windows is a plus but they channel the street noise right into your room. Overall - a very convenient place to live in LODO. A bit overpriced for the amenities and perks in comparison to other places. No high speed internet access is a huge problem.

Much of the building is aesthetically pleasing and maintenance is quick and very polite however, there are several glaring issues that you may want to be aware of before you consider moving here: 1. There are absolutely no amenities. No parking, no gym, no common area, no outside space of any kind. 2. There is no in unit laundry, all laundry is done in the basement and during my almost year here a majority of the dryers were always broken with occasional flooding 3. Additional Charges outside of Xcel typically total $100 on top of rent 4. Homelessness is common outside of the entrances and I have even had a homeless man try to enter my apartment.

Moved in during April. The layout I originally applied for didn't match the 3D Tour attached to the layout. I was not allowed to do a physical tour before putting down a deposit. It was not clarified that the 3D tour video was the layout I was getting and not map layout attached, I should've asked since the map layout didn't match the 3D tour. Joe from maintenance has been extremely helpful and friendly. There is constant weight dropping in the Gym which vibrates my walls/floors...I can feel the vibrations and hear the noises in rooms furthest from the gym area. Tenaka has done her best to assist in this matter. My AC stopped working early August--I was notified it would be some time until it was fixed due to the complexity of the issue. The Window Units supplied don't cool more than half my unit due to them being attached to windows located in the rooms only. They barely cool the rooms and are very loud. The portable AC Units are also attached to Ally windows---so I now smell everything and hear everything at all hours. They have also worsened my allergies and asthma. My living room and kitchen have no windows, and circulation and cooling the area is impossible (it is only decent now due to the temp dropping low). The Living Room/Kitchen become overheated when I attempt to cook and stale air and smells linger for hours. I have been unable to utilize half my unit for more than month due to the heat and lack of circulation. It is currently more comfortable out in the common halls than in the apartment I pay rent on. I keep trying to reach out for updates---it would be nice to have a "goal" date for repairs so I can utilize the apartment I pay for. It went from a few weeks, to waiting for cooler days, to end of month.
