Detailed Information for Broadcast Center Apartments

Exercise extreme caution when considering properties listed by the horrible company “AIR Communities” on rental platforms. While their promotional visuals might appear enticing, prospective tenants should be forewarned of a multitude of hidden fees. Beyond the baseline rent, there are significant charges for amenities such as parking, water, and mail services, which often require an additional subscription. The following are crucial observations derived from reviews by past tenants across multiple platforms. It is imperative that you review these insights meticulously to avoid potential regrettable experiences.

Here is 12 reasons why you SHOULD NOT! consider moving into Broadcast Center Apartments:

  1. Deceptive Financial Practices: The building’s management appears to engage in misleading financial practices, including unexpected late fees, unaccounted ancillary fees in online payments, and reluctance to resolve billing disputes without proof from tenants.
  2. Rude Staff and Management: Multiple reviewers reported experiences with rude, condescending, and unprofessional staff, including the leasing office personnel who exhibit micro-aggressions and unhelpful behavior regarding mail and package deliveries.
  3. Safety and Maintenance Concerns: Residents have faced safety issues due to frequently broken elevators, a faulty alarm system, and a lack of security or doorman, leading to unsafe encounters. Maintenance seems to be understaffed, with slow response times to urgent issues like toilet and shower malfunctions.
  4. Infestations and Cleanliness: Reports of roach and mold infestations, a persistently unclean and broken pool, and a general decline in property cleanliness under new management were noted.
  5. Unfair and Sudden Fee Increases: The new management has introduced arbitrary fee increases for parking, trash, and package lockers without improving services, and some tenants reported that previously waived fees were being unjustly reinstated.
  6. Poor Living Conditions: Complaints include limited natural light in units, unpleasant odors like cigarette and marijuana smoke infiltrating living spaces, and frequent, disruptive fire alarms. Some units face common areas, compromising privacy and security.
  7. Misleading Advertising and Contractual Issues: There are discrepancies between advertised prices and actual renewal offers, with significant increases in rent and misleading statements about available amenities.
  8. Lack of Community and Amenities: Despite having a variety of amenities, the management has been accused of mishandling package deliveries, limiting guest parking, and failing to maintain common spaces. The pool and other facilities are described as subpar.
  9. Lack of Empathy and Support: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the building’s management allegedly displayed a lack of compassion and support for tenants, closing amenities without proper communication and enforcing penalties for technical errors.
  10. Legal and Ethical Issues: There are mentions of potential legal action against the building for its practices, including impersonation of employees online, tampering with mail, and excessive penalties for breaking leases early.
  11. Broken Appliances and Delayed Repairs: Residents have experienced significant delays in repairs for essential appliances, such as ovens and stoves, and issues with drinking water and leaks.
  12. Financial Disputes and Hidden Fees: Even non-residents have faced financial disputes, such as unwarranted holding fees and charges from services like Obligo, with extreme difficulty in obtaining refunds.

It’s essential to keep these points in mind and possibly look for other rental options that provide not just a decent apartment but also a pleasant overall living experience.

Don't move here, I've lived here for the last year and a half and was very unhappy. It's not worth the money, not to mention is very expensive for what it offers. The walls and floors/ceilings are paper thin, I could hear my upstairs neighbor's footsteps, coming, going, getting in his bed and doing everything including using the restroom. My apartment was facing Grove Dr. and 3 times a week the trash truck would stop right in front of my apartment at 6:50AM emptying 2 trash containers the size of a car making an obscene amount of noise. The apartment was very dark and depressing, no natural light at all. The pool area doesn't get much sun either. The washing machines didn't work most of the time and to top it off, the staff isn't very helpful. So, if your in to dark apartments, with very thin walls/floors, like to listen to what your neighbors are up to all the time and having no peace and quite...look into it.

Roach and mold infestation in the apts pool appliances. Pool is always broken cold and filthy inside. Many people are leaving every month because new management destroyed the complex and are very hard to deal with play games steal lie only listen when lawyers are involved. Rude passive aggressive say they will work on it but don't. Noisy Apts constant construction from CBS studios from 6am till 11 pm police don't do anything and management forces tenants to stay. The common room tv doesn't work and they don't have remote so it's useless just for looks. It looks good on the outside but rotten not what it used to be.

Living in this building has been a complete nightmare! I moved into this building two months ago and was told by the leasing agent that I would not hear any noise coming from the CBS lot. She not only lied to me but did not tell me the extent of how loud the noise is. Everyday since moving here, I have to endure loud noises, sets are being built, several trucks unloading, workers screaming. As if this isn't damaging enough to my ears, the leasing agent failed to mention that they were shooting TV shows(Dancing With The Stars) right below my Balcony. It's as if you're living next to a concert arena. Audience members screaming/clapping, full bands blasting music, heavy equipment building the sets. All hours, everyday. Please look at my pictures. This is absurd how they are treating me, as a resident who is paying 3,700 a month. I should be entitled to sound proof windows for my health as this can do permeant damage to my hearing. For the past two months I have been fighting for these windows. They put in cheap windows which are useless. I'm beyond frustrated and have not slept in two months.I've written several letters to Didi Meredith about this issue and she is ignoring my letters. Who is above her?IN RESPONSE TO THE REPLY BELOW, NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not choose this place! There are a thousand hidden fees that they don't tell you about. Pest control, trash, maintenance, and some weird online fee for paying rent online... before you know it you're paying $100 more than your quoted rent. Plus, when construction needs to work on your apartment, they will just unlock your door with their master key and leave it open, they leave your AC on when they leave, and the water doesn't work half the time. There are far better options in the area. Do not choose this place!

I was visiting a friend for the holidays. The building leasing office staff were horrible to us. Micro aggressions every time we crossed paths. One for instance we had ordered something and put our name and address on the mail to the building. Instead of receiving the package, letting it come to the apartment, or calling the name on the lease they simply sent it back. A package that took a week to come and was time sensitive they just sent it back. When we asked about this they simply said "we can't receive mail there because our name was not on the lease." But why not call the name on the lease and ask them? Is this decision to be made by the person who pays the rent. The only people that can receive mail our the names on the lease? What if someone has kids or someone visiting? Or a misspelled name or an alias? It was done out of spite and pettiness. Something I expect adults to overcome. If you plan on living here don't invite friends over or they will be harassed by the leasing department. Besides this the building was really and nicely located. Just need to update the leasing staff on professionalism.

I implore future residents to do their research before choosing this place. Everything from the finishes within the apartment to the parking to the service at the leasing office is an absolute nightmare. The screening/TV room is just an extension of the leasing office and not a real perk. The pool was closed for the longest and the chair cushions were removed as though they didn't want residents to use the amenities. Same with the BBQ area. The computers in the Business Center are dated and slow. Most places that charge this much have Macs or at the very least decent wifi. The elevator is usually dirty. I can't tell you how many times I've seen puppy urine on the floor in there. As I was moving out, the back elevator was not operable! (This happens often and is very embarrassing when you have guests over). A perk is also that the leasing office can accept your packages but they often "lose or misplace" them so residents are leaving notes all over the complex about missing packages. The apartments themselves:Super dated finishes and not at all luxurious. The electric fireplace never worked fully. The wood paneling in the bathroom was falling apart when I moved in and so many appliances are broken or always on the brink of malfunctioning. I was always scared to use the dishwasher because it would overflow onto the wood floors. Not a small puddle, the whole kitchen floor would be covered in suds. The AC unit was constantly leaking water so I could only use it sparingly even during the summer months. It's like living in a glass house. Not wanting to use or touch anything too much for fear that it will break. I had track lighting in the entryway I couldn't use. The metal paneling on the microwave was always falling off. There isn't enough cupboard space in the kitchen to store all your pans, cups and plates. I had to buy a separate pantry. The maintenance staff were at my place often because I would go to open a cabinet door and it would literally snap off! I do crossfit but I don't even have the muscles to do that yet lol. The maintenance crew were actually nice, if they ran the leasing office this place wouldn't be half bad but unfortunately they don't.Speaking of repairs and expenses, you will likely spend hundreds + hundreds more per month on what should already be provided. From storage to extra parking (had to get two high security parking spaces from the Farmer's Market Self Storage next door) The amount of money I've poured into this place just to live comfortably is ridiculous. The front doors are too heavy and the walls are too thin so all you hear is BOOM - BOOM - BOOM all throughout the day as people are coming in and out of their homes. One can't even relax on days off. I had to install acoustic drapes by my front door and on the second floor to dilute the sound which was major $$. You may have to install a room divider or privacy screen because there isn't a way for guests to use the bathroom without walking through your bedroom. You can hear everything from CBS when they're filming and they don't care that people live right next door. They literally had our windows shaking with their LOUD Dancing With The Stars music like a nightclub. Our floors were vibrating, I couldn't believe it was legal. They had people with bullhorns screaming louder and louder for their finale show too and did several takes all week. They'll ruin your calm weekends so just get used to your wake up call being 7AM at the latest.Neighbors:20% are truly Angels. Very cheerful and informative. 80% are simply rude. There isn't much of a caring attitude among neighbors here. There was even an incident where a man from the second floor tried to forcibly remove my best girlfriend from the elevator because he said she didn't live here and therefore didn't deserve or have the right to ride with him -.- Wtf, since then we did our best to take the stairs to avoid rude neighbors. I've also seen kids who live here draw on and pull the emblems off my car -- Not coolLeasing staff:Lie often and rudest I've ever encountered. Monthly rent here is easily the cost of a mortgage and their leasing office couldn't even be polite. They hung up on me when I had questions, came into the apartment unit with no notice and added exorbitant fees for everything from access keys to remotes. I think it even costs to breathe air in that office so I hardly went.Neighborhood:FANTASTIC. If you have read this far, look for other luxury places within a 2-5 mile radius. There are so many. At least five to six good ones. I've since moved to a place nearby with no thefts or drama, approachable, friendly staff and spectacular views! You want to know what they said when I mentioned I was coming from the Broadcast Center? "Yeah, we get a lot of people from there." Please save yourselves the trouble and really look into this place. They cut corners and report real reviews on Yelp to make room for their paid, fictitious ones. Wish someone had warned me.

Scheduled 5 days in advance to view an apartment. Specifically said we are interested in a one bedroom loft; they confirmed and sent all info for viewing/requirements. Was sent a text message day of appointment asking to confirm again, which I did. An hour before appointment time was sent another text message saying they did not have a one bedroom loft available to see nor did they have anything coming available. Total waste of time.

Don't move here:Wow, where to begin. The false fire alarms that have gone off a dozen times in 11 months? Nuisance, yes, but even more than that, it's dangerous. So many residents here don't even bother leaving their apartments because of how many false alarms there have been. And why have they happened, where here's the running list of reasons I've gotten from management:Multiple times it was the vendor's fault for apparently "tripping" the fire alarm during some sheet rock installations or something.A couple of times it apparently could have been a prank, but don't worry, they ostensibly found out who it was and stopped that. And MOSTLY it has been due to the system just being riddled with malfunctions. The false alarms have gone off at 4AM, at 6AM, at 11PM; it's been pretty time-indiscriminate. Try getting back to sleep after waking up to a 4AM fire alarm and having to make your way down 6 flights of stairs (I'm on the top floor). It's downright negligent, and is past the point of dangerous.Next, the elevators.Well, they are frequently malfunctioning and being taken offline. It would seem that they would get them serviced properly, once, but they've gone down far more frequently than any other building I've ever been in. I got stuck in the elevator for 20 minutes once, with 5 other people, the air conditioning goes off which was fun, and one of the people in the elevator began to hyperventilate and nearly passed out, and we had to call 911. That only happened to me once, but the other night, fire engines showed up because it happened to someone else apparently.Ah, as I mentioned, I'm on the top floor. I always move into top floor apartments because I don't like people above me able to wake me up if we have different schedules. Well, more than half a dozen times in the last 11 months, different vendors and maintenance people have been on the roof at all hours of the night, outside of normal business hours and even outside of the LA County allowed construction hours. It's happened at 6AM, and 11:30PM before, which is such a wonderful thing to wake up to, people traipsing across the roof loudly without regard to people sleeping in the rooms below them. The other night it happened again at midnight, and I spoke with management ONCE AGAIN, and got the excuse "it was emergency maintenance" -- oddly the person had no tools with him. Just a flashlight hat thing. And last night, this happened again at 1:45AM, and I've still not gotten a response as to what the excuse is this time. Is it maintenance? Okay fine, I get it, stuff needs to be maintained on the roof. It'd be great if that stuff was maintained in advance so it's not in need of being fixed at midnight a few days ago, and 1:45AM last night. Seems like a few days ago they could have planned to then fix it between 9AM - even 10PM the next day, or over the course of the next few days, but instead they waited until 1:45AM last night do it?Also, there are very few visitor parking spots, and there are a ton of blind spots coming out of the garages, so be careful.

I could write a book about the negative experiences I've had since moving here last year, but I'll keep it short & sweet. Keep looking. You can do MUCH better. If you read some of the other posts, you'll get the picture. ????UPDATE ???? They're doing much better lately. Keys/key fobs are all gone. Switched to a biometric system, works well most of the time. Construction is done we signed up for another year....

I've been living here for the past 4 years now The rent is going up ($400) more from the rent I paid so far $3022 So now it's going up to $3422For nothing !The pool isn't working for 3 weeks now my family and friends who came for the holiday And I had to go to find places Drive , parking , uber , drinks And spend so much money while I'm paying so much for my "luxury apartment " After I sent mail to the manager he told me sorry ..there's nothing they can do No discount , no solutions, just said that they are working on it ! 3 weeks to fix leak at the pool In the middle of the summer ?I lost one of my chips to access the building The leasing office wanted to charge me $50 for this piece of plastic That's ridiculous! They removed the cushions on the tanning bedsAnd I need to burn my self every time On a hot , black bed every time that I want to sit there I use to love this building But it became terrible Rent goes up- service goes down I needed to renew my lease now And I'll be more than happy to leave this place !Do not recommend it at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not only I was charged a holding fee of 1500 dollars without signing a contract , I had gotten approved for Obligo, a deposit less app, that was offered by this company, I am still being charged 10 dollars a month. Keep in mind, I never moved in, and it's impossible to get a hold of this service to get a refund. I'm going to small claims. It's been 5 months

My partner and I waited 30 minutes for a tour guide that never came to show us the apartments. If this is how you guys treat prospective residents I'd hate to know how you treat actual residents. Professionalism comes first and you guys failed at that.

Horrible management, super unresponsive and super unaccountable. Christy is super rude, and not helpful. We had the worst move out, filled with lies from her end, as well as Air Communities. I do not recommend dealing with this team.

This is the worst apartment complex on the face of the planet. I never leave Yelp reviews ever, but I can't ignore the issues I have faced at this complex anymore.Since I moved here in July, my roommate and I have dealt with the following:1. A burglary - with little or no help from the staff to feel safe afterwards (precautions were taken right after but the new guards they seemed to have hired a week later) have now disappeared. Exceptions have been made for another tenant who got broken into through the window, since they messed up her renter's insurance, but not for us even after $7,000 worth of goods were stolen.2. In 3 months - more than 20 service requests submitted (17 to be exact through the online portal and others reported through other means - just in case they try to fight us on this) - maintenance issues vary day to day - here are a few: hair dryer blows out the lights in our apartment and no they are not too strong as many other tenants face the same issues, all appliances have gone out at one time or the other, bathroom tub leaks, sink leaks, electrical circuits coming out, etc.3. This is an extension of two - other people have had these issues since January and worse. If you move in - you will probably have to deal with ants, cockroaches, and other misc bugs from the vents and doors even if u keep the place clean. And today - the thing that has finally pushed me over the edge, a leaking kitchen ceiling in three spots that has severely cracked the ceiling and left a lot of ceiling water damage. This is most likely due to irresponsibleness of the top neighbors who continuously cause problems for us. It used to just be their stomping of zoo animals that they seem to be hoarding and now the inability to use a dishwasher properly that most likely caused this leak.As they have failed to resolve other issues we have had previously - hence the continuation of the same type of service requests - I am pretty sure our ceiling will have mold and I don't see them taking the right measures to address the issue. DON'T PAY A PREMIUM RENT at this place. It's great to be able to walk to the grove, but not when your blow dryer turns off the electricity to the apartment and the place you walk back to has been burglarized in addition to being flooded due to a kitchen ceiling leak. You will definitely be getting nothing for your money.

Just when I thought things were turning around...please note that if you have children DO NOT MOVE HERE. aimco decided to put in plugs for washers and dryers in every apartment in the BEDROOMS. We are unable to opt out and believe me when I say every single resident is against the idea. The management clearly does not care about their residents at all. It is a 7-10 week process every single day from 8am to 6pm. The leasing office isn't even open until 9 am so for that hour we have no nowhere to go since we cannot be present in our homes during the day. They are tearing down walls and installing these huge units so the dimensions on their website is completely wrong, you can barely fit any furniture in the rooms now. The construction workers leave the apartments filthy every day they leave and there's many instances of people's belongings going missing. Again we have no say as residents as this is forced upon us. My neighbors grandmother has cancer who is visiting for a couple days and she asked if they could halt the construction since she cannot inhale the fumes and they said "sorry there's nothing we can do about it". ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. The apartments are absolutely uninhabitable during these few months so we have to find somewhere to go / stay with no reimbursement from the management company so basically you have to pay for rent plus for somewhere else to stay for a few months. TOTAL SCAM.

BEWARE: ALL RECENT POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE PURELY BECAUSE THEY OFFER TO ENTER YOU FOR A CASH PRIZE FOR THEM, SO THeY CAN BURY ALL THE HONEST NEGATIVE REVIEWS. I am a current tenant and have spent the last few months following up with management trying to speak to different people in the hopes that someone would be Compassionate and reasonable about not raising rent during a financial crisis, when I've lost more than half of my income for reasons out of my control. However, I've been treated terribly, with not a single person having a real conversation with me, taking my personal circumstances into account. It's as if you are dealing with robots who continuously send a stock response about accepting credit card payment or suggesting you should find someone else to pay your rent for you. I'm at the point where they don't even respond to me or acknowledge my valid questions and concerns. It's beyond offensive and honestly just shameful. I guess that's what you get for living in a building ran by a larger management company that does not care whatsoever about its tenants or doing the right thing. You are nothing but a rent check to them. If you are reading this because you're considering moving into this or another aimco managed building, do yourself a BIG favor and look elsewhere. These people do not deserve your money or to have any control of your life and living situation. Also please note that any positive review you see online about this building is sparked by a financial incentive they literally offer you to write a good review. So just to recap: they WON'T agree to not raise your rent during a global pandemic and financial crisis, but they WILL offer to submit your name for a cash prize in return for contrived positive reviews online. Disgusting.

Nothing luxurious about it. My oven/stove has been broken for over two months, with 5 service requests put in, no one has done anything about it. There's currently no drinking water coming out of the fridge and there's a recurring leak under the sink that I'v been told someone will call me about next week, but unable to give me a specific time or number so I'll just have to answer every unknown caller I guess. Seriously not worth the rent.

We have been living here since June. This apartement buliding has lots of potential but it is managed in the worst way. The management here abuse their power and don't care about tenants. They forced us to do excessive unnecessary construction in my building without accommodating us. They basically harmed my newborn baby and when I talked to the management they didn't care and I tried to email and talk to them but they were non responsive at all. I wouldnt recommend living here. They are many better places at better cost in the area.

Very unfortunate, don't move here. [Update: Just added photos of firefighters attempting to get people out of the same elevator that trapped me for 20 minutes. Figured I should document these when I see them come to rescue people trapped in the same elevator over and over. This is at least the third time I've seen firefighters come for this elevator.] The false fire alarms that have gone off a dozen times in 11 months? I've seen people trapped in the garage several times, waiting for cars to open the gates, or for someone to come along with a fob to let them out. It's crazy. Should exits, marked as emergency exits, require fobs to get out? Seems negligent to me.

If I could give zero stars - I would. This building is a joke. They advertise luxury - but it is NOTHING of the sort. The amount of inconvenience, stress, literal lack of sleep, money, time, and frustration this building and AIMCO has caused me is insane. -No one ever answers the phones are your emails/voicemails in a timely manner- Work orders placed are never even responded to in timely manner nor are they ever done to satisfaction. They cover everything up with a lipstick paint-job and your appliances or doors or whatever is causing the issue will just continue to break. - THE RENT IS NOT WORTH IT! And the annual rent increase in this building goes up to 10%!!!!! They will FUCK you once your lease is up and good luck getting a-hold of anyone to negotiate and if you do- you will be told a bunch of bullshit that ends with zero decrease in rent.- CONSTANT FIRE ALARMS. Over 40 alarms and half in the middle of the night. Just imagine, sleeping soundly in your bed and awakening to the piercing noise of a 300+ unit apartment building alarm. Dogs going insane and then having to evacuate the building in the middle of the fucking night to wait for the fire department to come and disable the alarm. OMG - And the only explanation you will ever get is "we're working on it" or "we will look into this," the corporate way of telling you to go fuck yourself. Then - they do ROUTINE FIRE ALARM TESTING WHICH TAKES AN ENTIRE WEEK, which happens multiple times throughout the year. So All week long, the fire alarm just goes on and off. If you have pets, like I do - this is a horrifying and legitimately abusive regular occurrence. -They enter you apartment without you being there OFTEN. Constant "routine checks," yet somehow, no one every routinely changes your vents etc...Hmmmm weird.- Any positive review on this place is 110% part of management. KNOW THAT.- The place is DIRTY. I have found multiple cockroaches in my apartment - unacceptable and nothing was done about it. The entire complex reaks of marijuana and when A/C comes on, it always smells like mold and weed. The bathtubs are a plastic course material that are permanently stained a dirty beige when they are suppose to be white. The caulking around the shower doors is also stained with what looks like black mold. Its disgusting.- Enio the maintenance guy is super sweet - but the poor man is over worked and likely under paid and he is unable to accommodate the amount of requests im sure hes getting on a daily basis. - DO NOT MOVE HERE. I promise you - no one is happy living here. Everyone is always moving out and i cant wait for my lease to be up.

Total bait and switch - don't waste your time they're just trying to get you in the door to sell you something. Looked online and found an apartment that looked nice for the right price. I was thinking about a shorter term lease they list pricing and terms right there. The website listed 5 available apartments 2 of which where on the top floor. Set my appointment and off we go. Today I show up for my appointment and Regina checks me in. Starts by forgetting my name and follows up after I introduced myself a second time by asking if I was someone else again (Clearly Regina is a pro at customer service) then she asks me what apt I want to look at "The 1 bed 1 bath spotlight apt on the 4th floor (one of 2 available on their website)" to which she informs me she'd rather show me a 2nd floor unit that I'd like more "because it has a den". I prefer the 4th floor unit and would like to see that one if possible - no can do. Then she starts to quote me pricing, starting at 3K ($500 more then what's listed online) before the short term add on and pet rent. At this point I interrupt to ask mention the price listed online. "Oh no we NEVER had apartments listed at that rate" at this point I pull out my phone and show her 5 apartments Starting at $2540 - 2 on fourth floor. "Oh well we change pricing daily" I'M SHOWING YOU YOUR WEBSITE TODAY - LIVE. It's not like I travelled back in time to show you your website last week. Regina, sweetheart that she is, has nothing to say to this. Got up and left w/o seeing an apt. They only show apartments to 5:30 so in LA where everywhere takes 45 min to get to this means I left work early for this appointment. Clearly Broadway Center has no respect for peoples time or the truth and this is before I gave them any money or signed a contract. So How are they going to treat you once they have you locked in a lease? ps. as I sit here typing they still have 2 4th floor apts listed online at considerably lower then Regina's -let me stack up my commission- quote, taking online applications. Don't waste your time these guys are either crooks or they employ crooks, you shouldn't do business with either.

My husband and I moved here Sept 1st 2017. This is a review you should listen to.The positives this place has to offer is the great location. The park across the street, farmers market and the view from my 4th floor apartment is amazing. They like to consider this place a luxury living. They clearly haven't gotten out much if this is Luxury. Shoddy workmanship throughout the place. The finishes are dated cheap vinyl faux wood floors, tacky fluorescent lighting in every room. You can see the drywall seams in the the walls and the ceilings. The closets are so narrow the hangers hit the sliding doors as you open and close them so to completely close you have to push the clothing in to shut completely. The windows are hazy due to loosing the gas between the double pains so they always look dirty. All the window treatment is mismatched vertical and horizontal blinds that constantly break off. The ceiling to wall paint looks like a kindergartener painted it. When A/C comes on it always smells like mold which makes me think the black stains near the air ducts must me black mold. The bathtubs are a plastic course material that are permanently stained a dirty beige when they are suppose to be white. The caulking around the shower doors is also stained with what looks like black mold.So the luxury amenities included in this Luxury living complex would include the gym that has signs posted on every wall saying "no personal trainers allowed" It seems as if half the gym is always personal trainer that actually live in the building and profiting off the use of the gym that is meant for the tenants. I have brought this to Barry's attention over 3 months ago and he says he knows who they are but they continue trainers their clients several times a day causing the gym to over crowded and leaving the gym turned upside down.Another Luxury amenity is the Luxor locker system. This is a program that receives ALL of your packages and they send you a notice you have a package in the locker. If you don't pick it up within 3 days they charge you I believe its $10.00 per day after the 3rd day. If you don't pay they hold your package for ransom until it is paid. Last year I had 4 packages delivered but only received 3 of them. I called Amazon daily who kept telling me it was delivered. I contacted Dione, one of the many managers who have gone through here the past two years. For two weeks I kept telling here Amazon is saying my package was delivered. Finally I gave Amazon Dione's phone number and they insisted that the package was delivered. Low and behold after 13 days I get a text from Dione saying she found it in a locker and it was clearly Fed Ex's fault. I'd like to end this with the grand finale of sleaziness. The elevators are constantly not working. I haul all my groceries to the back elevator near my parking spot only to find that it is out of order again. So I pack all the groceries back to the front lobby that takes me clear around the building again. The new biometric finger print access seldom detects my finger print. The gate to the tenants parking area was recently not working. I pulled in to find there were 4 cars backed up trying to pass through the gate. I pulled my car over to go in and find the doorman or someone who could assist. I then walked out the back door to see if I could get the gate to open from other side. Just as I exited the back door the gate opened. Everyone drove through so I jumped in my car and started driving through as it was starting to close. The motion scensor always detects movement and the door automatically starts to open again. Well, this day not only would it not open properly for everyone but it failed to detect the movement of my car and hit it and then came to complete stop putting a dent in my classic roadster. I told Barry the manager the next day and he said to expect a call from their insurance agent to get it fixed. I got a call the next day from an agent who left a message. I called back 6-7 times within a 2 week period. Finally a manger called me and said the reason she didn't return my calls is because they saw the video surveillance and because the gate was closing at the time I started to drive through they felt it was my fault. I contacted Barry the next day to tell him my attorney would like to view the footage from the video and he said only with a subpoena. SLEAZY!!!I would like to point out that the maintenance team are awesome guys. I am not sure how they keep a smile on their faces working for such a sleazy management team.

AVOID THIS APARTMENT AT ALL COSTS. I recently terminated my lease with the apartment. My Final account statement included a $150 late charge fee for my final rent. When I originally paid my final rent, I did so using the online system for the apartment. I clicked to pay my rent and selected the "Current Amount Due" option. The Current Amount Due did not include $78.80 in ancillary fees (Sewer, Pest control, etc.) that I owed for that month. I had no idea that these fees had not been included and paid what I thought was the current amount due as stated in the online portal. I later find out that I'm being charged a $150 late fee because I did not pay the full rent due ($78.80 was missing from my payment because the online system had not included this amount in the current amount due). When I tried to explain that there had been a computer glitch and the $78.80 had not been included in the total amount due when I made my payment, the rude operators told me that the late charge will not be removed unless I had proof (a screenshot for example). I tried explaining that it makes no sense that I would reduce the almost $2,000 I paid a few weeks ago for my final rent by such a specific figure of $78.80, only to later be charged a $150 late fee, which was taken out of my security deposit. The operators continued to say that they would not do anything and that the late fee would be charged and taken out of my security deposit. This apartment will do everything possible to take as much money as they can from you. They will attempt to charge as many late fees as possible. Avoid the headache of always having to deal with management operators to make sure that what you are paying is the correct amount. Aside from the issue mentioned above, the elevators at the apartment were constantly broken. There was an instance where residents were stuck in an elevator for several hours because it stopped working while they were inside. The building alarm system does not work properly. For a few months the alarm would be randomly triggered at various points throughout the day (sometimes early in the morning at 5 am, sometimes at night). And management at the apartment is very rude and condescending.

DO NOT BELIEVE POSITIVE REVIEWS. I am convinced these are paid for. Please take the time to ask the actual residents during a visit. Not a single person I met at these apartments has a positive experience. They are liars and I have never experienced such horrendous treatment of people who are customers. After lying about renovations, and constantly giving us excuse after excuse, they have done absolutely nothing about damages to our expensive furniture and inconvenience. They've built in washer and dryer units into our BEDROOM. These were said to go in the living and dining area which would be much more reasonable. We will be suing this company for damages and the incredible time waste and infringement on basic decent rights any tenant has. Do not waist your time here. Terribly regret moving here. Many have left. Burglaries, inconsiderate construction, malicious absolutely malicious and manipulative business practices. Response to George - I have tried to reach out to your corporate MANY TIMES. And you asking the REAL tenants on this review whether or not they have tried to work with management when they EXPLICITYLY say that their experience with them has been IMPOSSIBLE just shows you are not even reading the review and are just writing for writing sake. You guys don't actually DO ANYTHING. Just talk. AGAIN, to anyone considering, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

I've lived at Broadcast Center for 2+ years now. The new management is absolutely dreadful. They are rude, incompetent, and unresponsive. Rent was increased by over $300 during my renewal on the basis that the facilities were being upgraded. The pool has since been closed for a collective 6 months and the hot tub removed entirely both without explanation. The lobby security attendant is gone as well. I find it completely dishonest and unethical that management raised my rent so significantly on a false narrative. Moreover I've inquired multiple times in person about a rent concession and have received no response. Building management simply does not give a sh*t about the residents.Do not choose to live here!!!

Added screenshots of the emails from building management, after I ask why they've listed my unit for significantly cheaper than what the only offer they gave to stay: 24 month renewal or 10% increase (insane)The response was that they listed wrong on their site, yet it's still there today.

BAD BAD BAD. I lived at the Broadcast Center 08 to 09. The real problem is that the management is awful. They're so incredibly rude, it's actually shocking. For example, I accidentally got locked out of my apartment. They wouldn't let me back into my place even though they had my spare key and I had shown them my proof of identification. They told me to get a locksmith because that's the official policy. It took me 8 hours to get back inside when they could have helped me out in 5 minutes. It's always like that-- if you have a problem, deal with it because it's your problem. It's incredibly unpleasant. And it's not just the fact that they won't help, they're rude while they tell you they won't help you.The building itself is really not very nice. The kitchen cabinets are so cheap-- I can't open half of them because they collide into each other. The public amenities are always breaking down and never get fixed. The walls are so thin, you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on outside. You get an assigned parking spot, but people who don't live in the building are constantly sneaking in and taking spots. The building does nothing to help you out, so you get stuck without a parking spot for days at a time. All in all, not worth the really high rents!Don't do it! Save yourself the headache. The management is so rude and incompetent, it is not worth it. You can find a better place that's run by people with some sense of decency.

My experience withThe broadcast center been a nightmare begins when the maintenance move the chairs on the porch and 6 o'clock in the morning instead of picking them up they're dragging them and wake you up then people sitting literally inside your living room in the sofas that close to your Terrace every other week if there's a problem with the lights leaking malt and a lot more when you try to contact the building they tell you to take numbers from the elevator you put up a claim and it's been completely ignored for two weeks then you call a big again but you got no one to talk to you, if you want to move here think twice you pay a lot of money and have no privacy no quality whatsoever , shai nahmani tenant !!!

Finally moved out of this miserable place, and thought I would be done with the actual hell that is dealing with this disgusting, greedy, management company. And of course as i receive my move out inspection report, they withhold a nice chunk of my security deposit for repainting the apartment. We left our apartment in great condition short of a few small holes from hanging pictures and mirrors, and some scuffs on the wall that are completely normal wear and tear after a few years of living somewhere. anything that was left behind is a quick and standard spackle and paint. THIS IS ENTIRELY ILLEGAL IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO CHARGE FOR PAINTING DUE TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. but they keep referring to "dents and scratches and holes" (which don't exist) to identify this normal wear and tear as "damage" and then charge us for it. They said that we agreed to these terms in our lease which is absolutely insane. my partner and I have collectively lived in over 10 different rental buildings in our lives and have never ever been charged for standard repainting of an apartment. I am fully planning to file a suit in small claims court because I am just so sick and tired of being taken advantage of by this company. You've got to be out of your minds to consider living in this place. If you want to be up at all hours of the night and day listening to falsely pulled or ENDLESS test fire alarms at an ear drum shattering decibel multiple times per week, if you like being financially manipulated and treated with predatory behavior, if you like cheap floors and walls that allow you to hear every tiny move your neighbors make, if you like the smell of smoke and marijuana absolutely everywhere, IF you like people leaving garbage in the hallway outside of the garbage shoots instead of inside of them all the time, If you like dealing with money grubbing heartless robots for management who literally never ever do the right thing or care about anything but making money off you in any way they can, by all means, enjoy living in this building. I've never been happier to leave a place in my life, and hope to see them lose as much business as possible until they start operating in an ethical way.

I have lived in the building for two years and I can tell you it's horrible. I have never lived in a place with roaches until the broadcast center. This building is involved in a class action lawsuit and many residents have signed on. I work full time and travel nonstop so I am never home. My apartment was spotless and I never even kept food in the house. Roaches were everywhere in the kitchen and in the closets. Whenever I would complain the new management would spray and bug bomb the place. I would have to leave for hours and the chemical smell was horrible. They sprayed and bug bombed over 9 times. Everyone seems to think the problem is with the supermarket below. This building also has mold problems in many units. For 3400 a month this place is a joke. I have seen many people come and go due to this I'm going problem. The elevators are always breaking and the building is very very noisy. Cbs studios is right next to the building constantly build new sets and blasting very loud music early in the morning. My advice to anyone looking to live in this building is stay far away. You can find much nicer apartments in the area without the bugs and noise. Oh and don't get me started on the escorts and drug uses that goes on in the building. Do you research on the building if you don't believe me.

The elevators in this building never works. there is dog piss and crap everywhere. Berry is the most incompetent and terrible property manger ive ever met. the entire building hates him and that 100% fact. they need to fire him and find someone who knows and understand client relations. discussing. honestly he is the only reason why i will never recommend this place. when you first sign up he is all smiles and nice but dont let that fool you. once you sign the contract youre nothing but a bother.

This is the first time I am writing a review. This apartment building looks nice in the first glance. However, after living here for 3 months it has been the worst experience ever. I also talked to many tenants and they had the same idea. It has insects, bugs and cockroaches. It is loud and very noisy. The management is the worst possible and they are basically a mess. I talked to management many times and they don't care at all. They just write under reviews they will take care everthig but they wont. I even had city inspector came and said they are violating the habitability code!!! So here it is not even habitable, but they still manage to don't care at all!

Do not move here! This building over the years has kept increasing the prices, they have no rent control, and they have become of cheap quality. They used to have water bottles and a coffee machine in the lobby, they got rid of that. The pool used to have comfy cushions, they apparently couldn't handle maintaining them either so they got rid of them. The chairs are hot and uncomfortable! The pool has not been working for three weeks now, I have to take my family and go to another pool, spend money there on parking and food, I asked for some kind of compensation since the reason I live here is for the pool, they completely ignored my request.I have to say that it all started with the arrival of the current manager, Tim Christian. This building used to have the best staff, now they have no interest in helping or accommodating, they are not approachable. I have lived here for five years, I have been waiting to see improvements in the building, but unfortunately have not and I will be moving out with PLEASURE. They raised my rent by hundreds of dollars and FOR WHAT? I will go take another luxury apartment for the same price that is ACTUALLY luxury and that has better customer service.

In regards to Carol's comment, if she had spoken to Barry, Stephanie, Ann or Deon she would clearly know I'm a resident. Just another example of the disconnect between the management and the day to day employees/operations--further disappointment.

You really don't want to live here. I'll start by stating that all of the recent 1 star reviews about this place are 100% warranted. The gripes about the elevators, fire alarms, construction, security, rude managent are all true. I find the positive reviews fairly suspicious at this point. Construction: The building is currently "under construction." It started with LARGE construction site boxes being set up in the hallways for staging as they install washer/dryer units in each apartment. They then painted these boxes and wrote in massive letters, "MODERN CONVENIENCE." I'm fairly certain this phrase was written in hopes that it would distract all the current residents for the very inconvenient times that lie ahead. We were informed that construction crews would be in and out of the apartments for 3 weeks. Starting on the first day, while I was in the shower, I received a knock on my door. Not my apartment door, but my bedroom door. I turned off the shower to tell them I needed a second to put some clothes on. This happened two more times as the crew seemingly likes to come in no matter what. Pretty inconvenient. About mid week I received an email from Cherokii asking us, "if you have made a decision on whether you would like the new washer and dryer amenity added to your home. This will add $100 per month to your lease and the convenience of not having to travel to a separate area with your laundry." This was just a promotional price, that will go up once the construction is finished(if it's ever finished.) I stated, in my response, how ridiculous it is to be asking current residents to pay even more than we pay now for these "luxury" apartments, and that I would like the washer and dryer installed for a fair price of $0 a month. Cherokii said no, obviously. I never expected anything else. The next week, I came home to my room completely uprooted. The construction crew is supposed to put everything they've moved, back to where they found it when they are done for the day. My nightstand, light fixtures, and other electronics were left on the complete other side of the room. I took a picture of this and sent it to Cherokii on 8/20, and have still not received a response. This is just a small sample size of the complete lack of care that the management team has for this property. They also leave the doors open while they work and after they leave so we have a bunch of bugs around our apartment. We also received a letter stating that construction is going to be extended for another 2 weeks. So 5 weeks total of them being in your apartment from 8:00 am - 6 pm. Can't imagine what you would do if you worked from home or had a pet. Security: The fab entry from the garage to the elevator is consistently broken. You can see the footmarks of people breaking into it. They paint it over once a month to cover it up. Usually, that elevator is broken or being used by the construction team. When that is happening you have to use the stairs, but sometimes the door to the garage from the stairs is locked from the inside, so there's literally no way into the garage save walking all the way out of the building and in from the front. Convenient. Management: Rude. Unhelpful. Dismissive. AirBnB: Strictly forbidden...Unless you want to do it. There have been countless amounts of airbnb'ers coming in and out of the building. I think management is trying to stop this, but clearly, it's not working. How long are these reviews allowed to be? I could go forever. I'll let my roommate tell you about the massive bugs in his review.

The apartments look nice on the surface but have a lot of maintenance issues. My apartment constantly has mould issues because the either my water tank leaks, or on another occasion the water tank for the unit above me leaked into my bedroom. The maintenance staff are generally good and helpful, but the leasing office staff are completely incompetent and unhelpful. They don't return calls, and make it seem like such a chore when you request things like a spare key. Additionally the building keeps shutting down facilities without any notice, case in point the pool which has been closed for almost 6 months cumulatively since April 2016. During the current repairs which were supposed to be complete in feb, they arbitrarily decided to remove the hot tub. They've also removed the business center. Lastly, they have no problem increasing the rent by an exorbitant amount. After one year our rent increased a whopping 300bucks pm, more than 10% increase. No negotitation. At the time we were told it was since the gym was being upgraded (they replaced perfectly working machines with newer models...for no reason), yet when facilities such as the pool are closed for months on end they refuse to consider a rent concession because "you pay for the apartment not the amenities" - according to the leasing office. The location is great but it's def not worth the price or the shitty service you get treated to

They just don't care about their tenants at all.I can publish the copy of emails I sent to aimco email. They didn't reach out to me until I called city and filed a complaint and city inspector came and said you kept my family under non habitable condition!! This is beyond unbelievable to keep tenants under non habitable conditions with a NEWBORN BABY!!!! It is just not humanity! I have attached photo and videos here, so people can see for them selves. The management reached out to me just after city inspector threaten them, and they said they will call me tomorrow but it has been 2 weeks no call!!!!

I would NOT recommend getting an apartment here. The Broadcast Center appears like a nice place at first, but you soon realize that there are a lot of things wrong.Parking: Parking is an issue -- people who may or may not live in the building will park in your spot. The building cannot do anything to move the car from your spot. The people at the front desk can do nothing to enforce this."Conceirge": The front desk is useless in terms of purpose. This must have been the only front desk that would not assist you in holding a package for a friend to drop-off or pickup. Security: They try to intimidate you to get out of the gym 10 minutes before it closes. Rooms: Not sure if the building can do anything about this, but the water that came to this building seemed pretty bad (almost like chlorine?). Make sure you get a really good filter if you live here, or you will get sick. Another issue was mold. Some units get zero light, and the ventilation wasn't so great. Despite lysoling and cleaning the bathroom constantly, i would see little purple splotches appear.Lastly, this building's management office is also not great. One primary example is when i chose to move out, they sent my final bill (after i moved out) to my mail box in the broadcast center instead of my new address. They tacked on a late payment b/c i didn't pay, even after i left a message asking about my deposit and bill. The only call i received was from AIMCO -- the people who work there seemed a lot more reasonable. In summary, the Broadcast Center resembles its renovations -- they put shiny coat of paint to hide the problems on the interior.

The apartment is alright and has nice amenities but the ceiling is very thin and you can hear the person walking above you. My roommates and I moved out of Broadcast Center in late July and have been having countless struggles with them since. The property manager went MIA after discussing getting my remaining mail there and I had to go in myself and get help from maintenance. We still haven't received our security deposit back even though they said they mailed it already (which it could have been lost in the mail) and it would cost us $25 for them to cancel the check and send a new one. Decent apartment, terrible customer service. The maintenance crew is really nice though.

Management is awful. Since we moved in there have been bug issues consistently. Management Ann and Dione to be exact have no regard for the inconvenience financially, emotionally, and timely that it has taken. Since I've moved in there have been roaches, termites, huge spiders, and silver fish all over the apartment. They have sprayed my apartment 7 times and I found a roach in my dishwasher with my clean dishes!!! It's not worth the price, and management doesn't care. Ann stated that they don't compensate for bug issues, I'm sure it's because they know they have an issue. The entire experience has been unpleasant. The greatest thing about the place is the location.

DO NOT LIVE HEREIt looks like a great deal until you sign the lease. As you can see by the other reviews, the leasing has completely screwed us all over. I work two jobs. One of them is from home and the other is a night shift. I have had absolutely zero privacy for over a month now. A worker broke my lock and walked into my room while I was changing. I have been walked in on whilst sleeping. We have been robbed of a months rent in this process, over $3,000! Not to mention my headphones went missing! The one day that I wasn't home they were gone... There is so much more that I could put, but I am so fed up of discussing it. It sickens me that they treated their residents this way. Oh and we have to pay $100 a month to have a washer/dryer put in? After you barged your way in at 8:30am without being given permission to enter for a whole month? I'll be filing formal complaints and reaching out to the city! Im livid.Pros to this place-It looks cool-Thats allCons to this place-roaches on move in day-lied to about washer/dryer (was told they were going to be "given to us)-broken dishwasher on move in-uncleaned apartment on move in-construction pushing 5 weeks-random fire alarms between 5-10pm each day (without failure)-missing packages-illegal entries-bugs in apartment from construction-dirty hand prints on walls from construction-broken electronics from construction mishandling-want to sleep? don't ever count on it, construction will wake you up bright and early, who cares about what you have to do.-also the doors in the hall ways have no chassis on them, so you will here those doors slam every 30 seconds. Conclusion: Unless I'm miraculously given a washer/dryer, which I know isn't going to happen, I stand by the fact that no one should live here. Its no wonder that they're offering free rent for two weeks to new residents, just look at the reviews. They're screwing their current residents and doing nothing to compensate. A "sorry" doesn't cut it, everyone that lives here is pissed off.Edit: I've never been so pissed off with anything in my life. The treatment of my living space and the absolute robbery from the resident cause me to make a Yelp account (l o l) and write a review. Just think about that for a second.

They declined our application and now we need to wait up to 10 days to have our money back. The communication was horrible, they didn't explain anything very well and said such things as I had bad credit because I didn't paid my rent on time ( not correct ) that never happened and it was very unprofessional to say those lies in an email together with my roommate. Do not live here... very unprofessional. Also before we got offended we even tried to offer more deposit and showed them our bank statement with more of the double that the rent cost. They denied us. They just didn't want to rent the apt to us. Very rude !

Putting 2 week old babies at risk, damaging property, NOT ACTUALLY RESPONDING. The most unbelievable experience with a business. DO NOT TRUST THEM

PLEASE READ THIS AND KNOW WHAT IM SAYING IS TRUE -Do not move here. It would take an hour for me to say what I've gone through living here, but it's not worth explaining it all. This place is scary, horrific management, constant construction, no care or response if anything goes wrong, non stop horribly loud fire alarms, less than 24 hours notice to enter apartments for random pointless reasons, safety is not anything cared about. My car as well as 30 or more Have been broken In to in the garage that is supposedly secured. It's NOT. Ever. No one cares about complains. No one cares about the constant security issues. Construction is happening without anyone's notice in all units. Six weeks of contractors in and out of my apartment all day every day. JUST DO NOT MOVE HERE. I COMPLAIN ABOUT NOTHING and I've made it my job to complain about this. if you want to be nickel and dimed and then treated like absolute shit this is what will happen to you. Please understand and know what I'm saying is true. And so much more but tooLong to type.

Great location with a horrible roach problem. They would have redo their entire plumbing system to get rid of the roaches cause the traveling through their plumbing system.Their management is nice entire you sign a lease then they could care less about you and seems to take please in making your life horrible. Totally inconsiderate people that are either rude or apathetic toward other people's living conditions. If you want to argue with people this is a great place to sign up! It appears as if they find managers that hate their life and want to take it out on someone.

I was visiting my friend during the holidays and have to say I've never had a worse experience with management of a building. The leasing office ladies were really unfriendly and rude at every counter, and also stopped me from using any common areas even though they were completely empty during my whole stay! The building itself is lovely and located in an excellent area but the management is horrible. The maintenance team on the other hand were super friendly and helpful, all points to them!

Worst apartment complex that I have EVER experienced. Management is terrible, rude and unhelpful. It doesn't matter how nice you are to them. Dione is often conveniently unavailable and does not want to be bothered with tenants who live there. The leasing consultant, Kathy, is extremely obnoxious. I haven't met a single tenant who likes her because of how cold she is to people who live here. I've never seen such poor customer service in my life. They will be all nice and smiles before you sign your lease at this place, but once you get settled all they care about is your money. It's like they are doing you a favor to let you live there. Reviews on here that speak nicely about Kathy I guarantee are fake. You will be paying premium rent for a complex where not only the staff treats you like crap, but to live in a place that is infested with roaches.Let's not forget the daily construction which was initiated in November. This is a project staff had known about before my lease had began but I was never informed about such until a few days before construction was initiated! I had been waking up to men doing work outside my window, banging, shaking walls and without amenities for months!!! It was a complete bait and switch-paying to have a pool and hot tub which is now a cement hole. Imagine living in a building spending thousands of dollars a month where you can't even listen to your own television or have a phone conversation...Don't even get me started on the breathing issues, headaches and migraines the construction has caused! Did management care? Nope. If anything they were the opposite. Cold, heartless and unsympathetic. I have pictures on this site to show just how valid my concerns were and how unethical their construction project is.Even their business center is without a working printer and computers as slow as molasses. When I asked Kathy if I could use their printer she told me not unless something was two pages or less. This was weeks into the printer not working. The laundry room is also useless as you will have to run the dryer multiple times to prevent clothes still being wet. This is also apparently after the fact they have updated the machines and are still having problems.Another warning: don't be fooled with putting down money for a security deposit. Even if you clean the place yourself before you move out they will charge you for professional cleaning services. Moreover, you will be hit with a painting fee-no matter how long you live there-even if it's just to touch up a few holes from hanging pictures on your wall. Right there that's hundreds of dollars you will never see again.Lastly, I'd like to comment about the burglaries in this building. There is no descent security. Multiple robberies and robberies that have even occurred in broad daylight. And let's not forget that random people come into this complex with code access and can easily get into any floor of the building. I always left my tv and lights on fearing someone would break in. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. There are plenty of places in la or even near the grove where you can live at ease and be treated like a human. I'm glad I finally left. You will be grateful if you listen to my advice. If you don't, later you will be thinking that I told you so.

I wanted a 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment and found one. I had a tour and the apartments are all painted a dully ugly yellow throughout. I asked if I could have white when they repaint before new occupancy and was told by the leasing agent it had been before. Now the management said, nope, it must be yellow unless I want to paint over myself the yellow they would have just painted but would then have to return it to yellow when I move out. LOL. Seriously. I said I would pay for the "color" cost difference and was told NO. The management team obviously are jerks who could care less if units are rented so I told them to stuff it.:

This was a horrible place to live. I literally had a countdown calendar to moving out. My husband and I were only able to survive because of their excellent maintenance manager, who was obviously not supported enough by management. Of note the was no manger the last 3 months of our stay. The were noise issues and no security to attend to our concerns of the DJ who lived below us but liked practice his skill at 2 am. Mind you, both my husband and I are physicians so we need our sleep to be the best for work in the morning. The sound of honking delivery trucks at erewhon and the post office at 3 AM was similar to the train scene in the movie My Cousin Vinny. No amount of Ambien could compete with that noise. The properties are "updated" but they did a horrible and sloppy job. There will be a cleaning of your apartment prior to moving in.... do not trust that it's clean because they essentially drag dirty rags on the toilet then use the same rag on your countertops. I was witness to this. There are cockroaches and silverfish bugs everywhere and the property is truly not well taken care of. The amount of money they charge for rent is a joke. While we lived there, we had neighbors who had their car broken into, their apartment broken into and tires vandalized on the regular. There is no security team despite what they tell you. Do yourself a favor and avoid this roach motel.

UPDATE: 9/19/19Dear Susan, if you are a real person please provide me with your full name, physical address, and phone number here so I can contact you!! Also, why there is no mention of Luxor in the lease??! ** I ask any current or previous tenants who had the same experience with Broadcast Center to contact me at [email protected]. PLEASE READ - I'm a current resident, 9/15/19- They will impersonate fake employees on internet to misinform or scam you (like George on yelp). No one named "George" is listed as employee at broadcast center. - They will temper with your packages which is a federal offense by making you believe that, in order to release your packages you must pay $50 annual fee. - They will charge you for trash removal (hidden fee) but you'll find grounds filthy most of the times. (Refer to images attached)- They'll run fire alarm test, which means hours of loud harmful siren inside the apartment (unfortunately I can't attach video on Yelp)- This place is a money making machine for the property manager and whomever involved, they scam you into believing this is the best place to live but as soon as you sign that contract the harassment and abuse by the property management (Barry Hurt) begin. - If you ever find the abuse and harassments hard to handle, you have the option in the lease to move out early, in that case, you must pay up 2-3x your monthly rent as penalty. I have come to believe that they harass you on purpose so you will have no other choice but to either put up with them or forfeit your contract and move out before the term.- This place is a class-action lawsuit waiting to happen so I would advise anyone interested in Broadcast center to save your time and money and look for somewhere legit.

Disgusting place. Horrible manager Christy. A rude and uncultured woman. The workers are constantly hiding and do not want to intersect with the guests. There are no complaints about the staff who assemble the building. Do your job well. Constant fire alarms a month, 3 times consistently. If your siren starts blaring at 3 a.m. and your baby is sleeping, that's normal. You may also see homeless people sleeping inside the complex periodically. I'm glad I left this place.

I've been a resident here for over a year and it has been, for the most part, alright. However, in the past few months there has been some staffing changes to the community management and the entire vibe has changed to a cash grab business. First of all, my parking at the sign of my lease was waived. When the new manager took over she made me send her "proof" before she continued to honor what was given to me by the company. She shared with me that my parking was free without approval, even though they literally had been waiving it for the past year -- making internal personnel issues my business. Then the emails started rolling. Every week, we are receiving "cash grab" emails -- now they're going to charge for guests to park, increasing trash fees, and lastly the Luxer One package locker fees from $50 a year to $75. All these fee increases are completely arbitrary, out of nowhere while the quality of the property has gone down significantly. The cleanliness of the common property areas under the new management is very poor. There are animal feces not getting cleaned despite residents emailing and calling them. Fire alarms are going off randomly. Maintenance has shared with me they are short staffed. And all residents are receiving as a return of these fee increases are even more fees being increased with nothing to show for. I have shared my feedback over and over again but yesterday's email about Luxer One fee increase was the last draw. The management has to be changed ASAP...

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE! Let's start with the fire Alarms- you won't ever be able to sleep in last 7am because they're fire alarms go off every morning for hours! I moved in 6 months ago & every month since I've moved in they've managed to post bullshit notices for reasons they need to come in "annual inspection" "checking the door" "checking the a/c unit"This place is an ABSOLUTE HORROR! As I wrote this review this is probably over the 15th time the fire alarms have acted up, it's been going on for almost 2 hours now & none of maintenance will answer. I've called 3 times & just get hung up on.This place is absolutely HORRIBLE!& the people in the leasing office are SO UNFRIENDLY!! Never have I been greeted with a good morning! Or good afternoon! This place is money hungry & management doesn't give a shit about you!

Horrible horrible management and staff. They're nice until you until you sign the lease but even before the ink dries they lie and promise empty promises they don't ever intend on keeping. The short time I've been here the staff has changed more than I can keep track of! They are liars and cheats and are illegally entering units and doing construction constantly. I am locked in a lease now otherwise I'd move out. Avoid this building to save yourself a headache. There are roach problems but if you complain they'll lie about not using any chemicals and spray your furniture not caring about your health. Thanks George. I have no faith, by my experience thus far, that you or your team will do anything to remedy this. They are doing construction in each unit gutting each unit to build washer/dryers to increase the rent with no consideration of living conditions to current residents. Will you stop the construction and compensate current tenants for the damages to their things? They are causing damage to tenants personal property!!! No you won't because there's no budget to pay for the damage your team is causing. The elevators have been shut down for weeks with no apology, the fire alarms keep going off and management could care less about the tenants.

Avoid the headache of always having to deal with management operators to make sure that what you are paying is the correct amount.Aside from the issue mentioned above, the elevators at the apartment were constantly broken.

If I could give this apartment building -10000000 stars I would. I am currently sitting in my apartment at the broadcast center wearing noise cancelling headphones as I am writing this review as the construction noise at the apartment is way too high for me and has been giving me severe headaches. All you will experience if you move to the broadcast center is construction noise from remodeling. All they do is remodel 24/7. I have lived here for 8 months and my experience has been horrible. Within my time living here, they added storage units to the first floor, closed the pool down for renovations (pool is still closed its been more than 4 months) and finally the last straw, re-modelling the apartments right above us. The construction noise I have lived through has been terrible and has gone outside regular business hours of 9-5, sometimes ongoing until 8 pm and starting at 6:30/7 am. THE WORST PART from all of this, the management team is literally the worst at communication and they do not give a **** about their residents. We complained so many times in regards to the noise mentioning our severe headaches and the fact that my sister is recovering from her surgery and their solution was "leave the apartment during construction hours". Which we then responded to with okay then , we can find alternative accommodations and we expect to be compensated for the months that we are forced to leave the apartment and of course their response was no. They want us to leave the apartment we pay almost $5,000 for so they can do their stupid remodeling and they don't want to compensate us. Excuse me? Where is the logic? They have literally been ignoring us and our emails with 0 communication from the management team. DO NOT MOVE HERE and you better believe I will be copy pasting this review literally everywhere I can and taking legal action against this building if I can.

NEVER ENDING CONSTRUCTION! Each year they update something normally it's supposed to be good thing but the management never respond you when you need or respect your life it's really disturbing.3 years ago they updated lobi and pool area never be able to use for months last year updated general area floors this year they are setting washer & dryer hookups construction is in all over the apartment so you wont be able to use your OWN home for 9-10 hours in a day( it's supposed to be done 100years ago when the washing machine was invented ) Also if you want washer & dryer setting up you have to pay $100 each month which is annually $1.200 if buy it yourself ( keep it after) much more cheaper but they don't allow.Your door is remain unlock and on each floor there is only 1 security for appearance sake how can his keep in eye all the apartments at the same time? Also there is a construction at the garage i found my car cover with dust and some paint and rocks dropped on it!!If your apartment facing US post office you have to bear honking noise during the day cuz they don't have an automatic gate they open the doors when they hearing honk (they starts 8 am) You are not allowed to wash your balcony cuz water dropped other tenants wall use with dirt and cacroachs (roachs everywhere)I am not the one complaining about things i found other tenants nots several times just check my picturesPlease never reply this message hi my name is bla bla mail me,contact me, let's discuss... i'm not seeking a solution i tried many times it's just useless you don't have any solution thats the way how you manage the apartment...

HORRiBLE PLACE!!! DO NOT LIVE HERE. This is by far the worst apartment I have ever lived in. If you love cockroaches this is the place for you! At first glance the building looks beautiful and the location is amazing. However, the building is infested with cockroaches, so you should ask yourself if you are comfortable having cockroaches in your kitchen, on your dishes, in your food, in your shower, in your bedroom. If you answer yes, then this roach motel is perfect for you.Oh and by the way, don't get me started on dealing with the management. These people may actually have no souls. A girl I know had her car stolen from the garage. Did the management try to be helpful to her at all? Absolutely not! They wouldn't even waive her $20 parking fee for one month! I mean these people are as cheap and horrible as they come.If you want to live with a bunch of cockroaches and deal with horrible management this is the place for you. Otherwise. There are much better buildings that cost less in the area. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!

They also leave the doors open while they work and after they leave so we have a bunch of bugs flying around our apartment. We also received a letter today stating that construction is going to be extended for another 2 weeks.

In the midst of the corona epidemic this company/ building doesn't give a shit about you as a tenant. They have just closed down all amenities and no one to see at the leasing office. INSTEAD THEY ARE GIVING TENANTS PENALTIES FOR TECHNICAL ERRORS. I received a phone call today from corporate where she didn't even presented her self by name and talked to me in very arrogant way. I have been in this building 4 years and experienced so much without complaining but enough is enough. This is my first review and more will come if this terrible attitude doesn't change. I have enough stories about what is going on here. Behave like fricking humans. We are all in this pandemic together. We live with corporate greed all the time. This it not the time.I have sent you an email Susan.

Apparently it's $10 a day for every day that you don't pick up a package and that's not a choice of Luxor package service that's a choice of our building broadcast center wanting to rip us off so they decided that it's $10 set the rate per day when you don't pick up your package you have two free days after that your paying. Unfortunately I was in Germany and I owe them 60$ for a small package of clothes I got delivered that could have fit in my mailbox. This building will find anyway possible to take more money from you including the hundred dollar a month charge for a washer dryer in your unit. They have the worst customer service they Continuously find reasons to have construction around the building and enter your apartment at inconvenient hours of the day to replace your door Or whatever they are in the mood to replace because they are often in the mood to replace things and Violate your personal space with multiple people doing construction in your apartment. This place is a rip off I paid so much money to live there and I'm not happy at all I have not been happy since the day I moved in but I already signed a year lease so I'm stuck.

I'm generally disappointed by the management. I moved in February of 2018 and have found the staff to generally be rude, dismissive and arrogant. My wine cooler has never worked despite multiple requests. Not a big deal, but it was one of the things that was offered by Broadcast Center vs. other apartments. The manager who moved me in never told me where the mailboxes were, advised utilities were included (they are not - only water and sewer are included) and she left less than 2 weeks later. I signed up for autodraft and in June they had an issue and failed to pull it - I was out of the country. I got the VM from them upon my return to the USA and called while my plane was still taxiing to the gate. I was assured that the late charge would be reversed. I paid as soon as I got home and then they refused to reverse the charge. Their new "manager" told me I should give them a way to reach me while I'm on another accident in case they screw up again. The only other communication I get from them is when they enter the apartment - weekly - when I'm not home (and never to fix what is broken) and they comment on my personal belongings or if I'm not notified of a package and get a nasty email to pick it up. The women who work here are nasty and dismissive of any female if they are approached and act as if they are too important to be bothered. The apartments are fine for a place to sleep close to the office, but nothing more. I spend all weekends and many weeknights (if I don't have a super early day) at my own home and I'm glad I have the option to do so. Spending 3K per month and 700 feet is appalling when coupled with the horrific management. There is one young man who works here who is helpful - I have yet to meet any of the others who don't act as if you're lucky to get a moment of their time.

We moved into the Broadcast Center at the end of August 2020, while we have only been here 3 weeks so far, we have run into a myriad of issues that should be flagged for potential residents. On move-in day, the problems began. Our moving truck was not accounted for and they did not have room for the truck to be parked out front, we had to ask other residents to move their truck so we could switch. Since the BC sets appt times they should be responsible for making sure all residents can properly move in at their assigned time. Additionally, making movers use their back freight elevator adds almost 2 hours on to your move, which I was of course responsible for paying. I brought this to the community manager's attention and he basically shrugged and said oh well. On move in day, we were told that the upstairs unit had just been vacated and they would be doing a bit of construction for touch ups. Turns out, it is a full apartment remodel and they have been working LOUDLY for a full 3 weeks 7am-10pm everyday. Super fun with work from home. Due to these subpar construction workers, a pipe was hit and our entire kitchen ceiling leaked for a day before it was fully fixed. We now have water damage they have yet to fix. Only a day later it happened AGAIN and our guest bathroom exploded with water. One major note as well is about COVID protocols in the building. The amount of tenants who do not wear masks in the shared spaces including elevators is STAGGERING. To the point I have to take the stairs because residents will lash out if you ask them to wear a mask. I brought this to the community manager's attention about a week ago and he said he would put out more signs to note that masks are required (which should have already been done). Of course, he still has not actually done this. I have not even mentioned the cockroaches in the bathtubs or constant street and shared space noise that is conveniently brushed over on your tour even if you ask about it. While I would not consider this to be a bait and switch, it is pretty clear that elements of the complex are hidden from potential tenants. The surrounding area is very walkable and nice but in terms of what you are paying for, definitely beware. Hopefully things will improve.

So I have been living here for a while now and thought I would write an update on my experience living here. I do still love the location and the apartment itself, but I have struggled with noise issues. The floors and walls are pretty thin and I had a terrible upstairs neighbor for a while who would come home at 2-3 AM on weeknights and have people over and play music and stomp around til 5 AM. It was terrible, thank god he moved out. I still hear the new upstairs neighbor's footsteps all the time and I did have to go up there an knock on her door a few times and ask her to be quiet, it sucks getting out of bed at midnight to do that. And there is a guy on my floor 8 apartments away and his music is seriously unbelievably loud all the time in the evening and I feel so bad for whomever lives below and around him! No one wants to hear loud bass and rap music blasting through the hallways! Also I have another neighbor who is often out on her porch at night smoking and being loud (this is supposed to be smoke-free building) and I have emailed the management about it a few times and never received a response to my message. The smoke comes right in the open window and then my whole apartment smells like cigarettes. And many people smoke here and it seems like there is no real way to make the building smoke-free because no one listens to the "rule." Also the old guy who lives next to me is very old and plays his TV extremely loud and it shares a wall with my bed and can be very frustrating. I try to do the mature thing and knock on his door and ask him to turn it down but he never answers the door so I end up having to always leave him notes. I guess it is always a crap-shoot with any apartment building because you never know what your neighbors are going to be like. Also, the CBS noise on the West side of the building can be really bad, especially on weekends it starts at 7 AM. And they are supposed to stop all construction noise at 10 PM but there have been numerous times where I have called CBS security and told them they needed to be quiet because they are essentially breaking laws by making noise that late. There were even times well after 11 PM that they were being noisy. And the garbage truck comes in there at like 6 AM on Sundays and there is no way to sleep through that noise! You have to understand the lot (and all of their construction materials) are literally 20 feet from my (and many others') balconies and the noise can be very loud!So I officially now sleep with a fan on every night to drown out then noise along with a white noise machine AND earplugs. :(Also I do find that the washing machines and dryers can be broken for 3-4 weeks at time. Apparently the tenants are responsible for calling and reporting the broken machines to the company that owns them and no one ever does, so after about 3 weeks I finally call them in myself. I emailed one of the leasing agents about one that was broken 3 times and she ignored my emails. I have also had an issue with my hot water pressure in my tub for months now and have made MANY requests to have it fixed and... nothing. FINALLY after 4 requests and an outside plumber coming in to fix it I realize that they put it off bc it was a major fix; the piping was entirely corroded and they had to cut into the shower wall and replace everything. They just didn't want to spend the $$$ so they hoped I would just shut up and deal with my hot water barely trickling... it took them 6 MONTHS to fix it, no joke. And I did renew my lease after the first 12 months even though they raised the rent $120 a month, (and that is the amount after I negotiated them down). It is just disappointing because it seems like they only care about the money and not about keeping people living here long-term because who is going to want their rent raised every single year by $150?? And why have my monthly utilities (shared costs across the whole building-water/sewer/trash/etc) gone from $40 a month to $70 a month? And as I type this I can hear my neighbor's bass booming above me. 🙁 Guess I have to to stay positive sine I am living here for another 11 months but for the price I am paying for a 1 bedroom I can rent a house elsewhere and not have to worry about shitty neighbors.OMG and how could I forget! They now allow dogs here (which is awesome) but there has been a serious issue with people allowing their dogs to pee and poop in the hallways and common areas and then the owners don't clean it up! And when we moved in they told us Erewhon delivered to residents in the building and that we received 10% off all of our purchases there and neither of those turned out to be true. And finally the movie screening room can only be accessed by walking through the leasing office (which closes at 6 PM) so it is pretty much a useless amenity, at least for me because I have a day job.And I am petty sure these newer 5 start reviews are fake... funny that many of them only have 1 review on Yelp!

When I moved in to Broadcast Center in 2015, it was efficiently-managed by a husband and wife team experienced in real estate property management. Just prior to moving out in 2016, the management company hired an insecure manager with a background in interior design who appeared nervous and unsure of herself each time we interacted. Don't know if I'd ever want to return to Broadcast Center, as the management company (Aimco at the time) had seemingly been short-sighted in its ability to hire competent, experienced property managers. Looking at Broadcast Center's "Certified Resident" reviews on its website, it seems as though management of this property has improved. However, strongly suggest prospective tenants/residents read current Yelp reviews to get a clearer perspective of the experimence of living at Broadcast Center.

I will start out by saying that the sole reason for the low rating is the fact that they DID NOT enforce their no-smoking policy. Beware, if you plan to move here for a smoke free environment (as advertised), think again. The no-smoking policy was one of the primary reasons my wife and I moved here because we were planning to have a baby and needed to get away from a prior neighbor that smoked. Turns out, as soon as we moved in, the downstairs neighbors daily smoke seeped into our apartment and made it wreak of cigarettes. It was especially bad if we turned on the AC (another perk that we paid for but couldn't really use). I spent nearly a year working with management on this issue. I sent photos of the cigarette butts to management, called security who in turn caught them red handed, and did countless other things to provide evidence of the smoking, but still NO RESULTS. The lease says that a violation of the smoking policy can lead to eviction. What is the point of this policy if you don't enforce it? Anyway, we broke our lease early and moved out before we had our baby so that he can live in the safe smoke free environment he was supposed to live in. My wife was 7 months pregnant and we had to move! For how much we paid for this apartment, this should not have happened. Management should have enforced their policy. So, BE WARNED. Other than that, our apartment and the facility was pretty great. In fact, the management were very nice. But, when you don't have the backbone to enforce your policy, you will have angry customers. I hope none of you make the same mistake I did.

An UPDATE:I was swiftly contacted by the building's leadership team to address my noise concern, and my windows were replaced. This is the ONLY reason I am giving this place an extra star - for the effort in this one circumstance. While I greatly appreciate this, I truly do, it has made 0 difference in terms of hearing hallway noise. Our upstairs neighbors moved out, and in their place are two mid- 20s guys who love to blare music, have girls over, and stomp around. It's currently 11:30 PM on a Sunday, and I can hear club music right above me. I may as well be in the room with them. I've called the designated "security patrol" that the building has provided for us 9 times in the last 1.5 hours to try and get this resolved. There has been NO answer, and now the phone is off. What a joke. Furthermore, when I was speaking to the service team members, I brought up some security concerns (mostly that there is code access in our elevators, instead of just our key fobs) and that there have been a concerning number of thefts (especially packages left in front of our doors). I was assured this was being handled, and that the codes have been deactivated. I was told the only way to get up the elevators is to use a key fob. This is NOT true. I have seen MULTIPLE people type in various codes to use the elevator in the few months since. This means that anyone who sees the code punched in can access our floors. Aka - the thefts will likely keep happening, as strangers are free to roam our building.Furthermore, I have called the leasing office 6 times in the last 3 months, as well as sent an email, asking to be added to the front door directory so that I can buzz my guests in. Guess what? It hasn't been done yet.Not to mention the extreme amount of dog pee that's always left in the hallways and elevators...Don't move in here. It's too much money to throw away.

I'm surprised Christy still works here after all the negative reviews..Moved in since 2016 had much better leasing managers like Lucas, Barry and so on. Christy was the endgame lol she was rude, disrespectful, vicious, full of lies lacking of professionalism. We moved out for good

The laundry rooms need an update, especially the dryers. I don't overload the machines and I clean out the lint and I still find my clothes damp after each cycle. I notice other tenants having to restart their dryer cycle too. Having to restart a cycle at $1.50 each time..yikes $$$$$Also, if you're sensitive to noise, this place is not for you. The walls are super thin and unless you get lucky with a neighbor who is quiet or is never home, you will hear everything! Not only that, if you have a neighbor above you that have the updated "wood" floors, you will hear every SINGLE step they take. The tenants above me must never sleep because I constantly hear stomping of feet and dropping of things at all hours of the night until early in the morning.

Building has pros and cons so you'll have to decide what's important to you. Let's start:No building doorman/security. I've had many situations where I found myself in the elevator with sketchy people who rushed in just before the elevator closed using me as their way of getting in. This can be scary in the evenings. There is a courtesy watch person in the evenings who walks around but he ultimately is used for addressing noise complaints. None or limited natural light in units. Inward facing units have it the worst and it usually feels like nighttime during the day from the lack of natural light. Units don't have ceiling lighting in bedrooms and in common areas so expect to use lots of lamps. Walls are painted yellow so between that and the lamps, expect to live in a yellow like setting. Cigarettes and marijuana odors were quite a common smell for me so if you're unlucky, like many of us at the building, expect to smell it in your a/c unit or when opening your balcony doors. Maintenance issues can take several days to resolve so watch out for the lies the building will give that would suggests issues are resolved timely. Yes, toilet and shower issues are not of priority to them. I had to wait 4 days for the toilet to be repaired. Thankfully, I had another one to use. The units are equipped with ear piercing at the highest level decibel alarms that frequently go off for all sorts of reasons. I'd say I experienced it about 20 times a year. There is absolutely no way to sleep through it and it has gone off in the evening and early morning. Most recently, this was caused by people cooking in their units and several pranksters. Yes, pranksters that never get caught because there aren't cameras facing the alarm levers. Parking spaces are a bit tight but better to have indoor parking than not. Maintenance, cleaning staff, and night courtesy are very respectful, hard working, and great staff. Building is cleaned for the early morning but trash piles up around in the late afternoon so seems the staff are done earlier in the day. Pool, clubhouse, package room, conference rooms, gym are all great amenities. It would be ideal for the pool to be heated on colder days. You are forced to pay $50 a year to receive your packages through the use of luxer lockers. If you don't pick up your packages after 2 days, you get charged $10 a day up to day 7 where the management will return your package on your behalf. Rarely will you have parking for guests. There's only about 10 parking spaces for guests aside for street parking. You'll often see random cars parking in your building who are not guests. You have tenants parking in guest spots because they are already using their unit maximum. You have erewhon customers parking there for some odd reason. In the end, you'll almost never find a spot so tell your guests not to come over. Sad isn't it?Tenants seem to be nice and respectful except for those who let their dogs pee in the staircases because they are too lazy to do the right thing as well as those who smoke on their balcony. Total expenses Not included with rent tend to be $150-$200 a month and that doesn't include cable, WiFi, renter insurance. Costs are broken up into about 7 categories of building/common and unit expenses. I, along with several other units, are experiencing termites. It can be difficult to live in a unit where you don't feelcomfortable opening your blinds to get natural light because it faces the common areas where people can look into your unit. This can be frustrating and a security concern especially for those with children. Other pros: Great location. Large park across the street. Perfect for dog owners. Erewhon market within complex and open late. The grove just down the street. A 2 minute walk so no need to drive there. Great restaurants nearby and all walking distance. Unit layout and costs - good bang for buck. Fire pit near pool and another on the terrace. Mostly go unused and underrated in my opinion. Moving out early will cost you to pony up 2x your rent. You must give minimum of 60 days notice. Switching units will cost you $1k which I argue should be eliminated if you essentially resign another 1 year + lease. At the end of all this, my biggest concern is safety and lack of natural light in units. Foot traffic is so heavy in this building that you never know who is who. My suggestion to management is to get a doorman and to add security cameras for the courtesy night watch to have tv/security cams access as there is lots of ground to cover for one person.

Apartment is wildly over priced. Building is nice, but truly not clean. You can't use a stairwell without encountering the filthy hand rails. Animals poop in the elevator and pee on the walls. Hallways need a good steam cleaning; monthly. Pool is only 3.5' deep so it's only good to splash around in. Also the area/traffic is very noisy. Sad that I'm lock here for a year.

Just moved out the Broadcast Center a month ago and I want to write some facts just for future reference:PROS: 1. The one star is to the maintenance team. After submitting the order online, the team always got back to me within a day. They are very efficient and care about the residents. They make sure to fix the problems as soon as possible. 2. The LUXER package system makes sure you can get your package whenever. CONS:1. My roommate's car got STOLEN in the gated parking lot. My car was robbed as well. The community manager, Dione, never gave us a call or email to discuss about it. Moreover, there were not enough cameras to see that person's face. There were also no cameras in hallway or in the elevator. I called the Aimco corporate (Ann) and got the feedback: they do not have enough budget to set up more cameras. (so is it a luxury complex or not...) 2. I have seen cockroaches inside my apartment and in the hallway several times, so as many other residents. After other residents told the manager, I also gave her a call. However, she lied to me by saying she had never heard about it. 3. It is relatively loud if you are facing the CBS studio. Every Saturday morning around 7am, people started to produce loud noise (over 60dB). Furthermore, since the floor is relatively thin as well, I could also hear people walking above me. 4. Safety issues. The glassdoor at the lobby is broken 80% of the time and so many random people know the elevator codes. I talked to the manager for a few times, but never got a solution for this. 5. There is no more printer in the business center. The internet there is significantly slow. Do not trust the pictures on the website.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Broadcast Center, so I'll detail my experience out as best as possible! --The Pros: The location of these apartments is unbeatable. The complex is close to a number of fantastic shops on Beverly, and is on the same block as The Grove. The apartments themselves are beautiful--they have great layouts, beautiful hardwood flooring, sizable balconies, fireplaces, and large bathrooms and closet space. The views from some of these apartments (mostly outward facing) are also amazing. You could actually see the Hollywood Hills and Hollywood Sign from my unit. The residents are mostly in their late 20s/early 30s and, from my experience, were friendly people. It isn't really a get-to-know-your-neighbor place, but it is definitely pleasant. The Cons: I had problems with the management from the get-go. After I placed a deposit on an apartment, Stephanie--who knew I had placed my deposit because I had spoken with her directly--rented out my apartment to someone else. I had to argue with management over a period of days in order to get my apartment back. The cost of this place is outrageous... And quite honestly, not worth it. I have friends who have comparable apartments in the surrounding area for nearly $1,000 less. Additionally, the complex is increasing the amount of rent by the hundreds of dollars annually. The construction here was an extreme inconvenience. They shut down the elevators and lobby area for about a month to "redo" the lobby, which looked almost identical to the old lobby a month later! They also removed the security guards' seating area, which bothered me--why take away their seating? The laundry machines DO NOT WORK and are completely overpriced. Doing laundry was a constant hassle for me over my year here. When packages are delivered to the office, you can only receive them between 12-6 on weekdays. I don't think that it's news to anyone that most people who can afford to live a complex like this one are working between those hours. There were plenty of times where I couldn't get my packages until the weekend. If I asked them to leave it at my door, the response I would get was "we don't do that."--Overall, I had a decent experience in my year living here. To sum it up, you will definitely love your apartment at this place, and you'll love the location even more. But you may experience some other problems while you're here! Just be sure to weigh the pros and cons before spending the amount they're asking for rent 🙂

Building is fine. Maintenance team is great. Move-in and move-out is a huge pain since they won't let you reserve elevators. Its a huge inconvenience. Also everytime you leave the parking garage is like mad max - blind spots everywhere and cars speeding up and down The Grove Drive. There are pot smokers in the building that management does nothing about - we couldn't even sit outside and enjoy our balcony because of the constant smoking.

I moved in 36 hours ago and I am praying this is not a case of bait and switch. The apartment layout seemed great for what we were looking for and the complex seemed very nice, and reasonably quiet considering the location during our tour and while we were moving in. Tonight is my first night sleeping at the new place and before even unpacking I saw a pretty gross looking bug in one of the bathtubs (strike 1). After clearing my mind of that and trying to not freak out, I finally got to sleep only to be awoken a few hours later by a building wide fire alarm. It is 3:20 a.m. and at this point the fire alarm has been going off nonstop for the past hour and 12 minutes. It doesn't appear that anything is on fire. No idea what is happening or why. Proceed with caution if you are checking this place out.
