Detailed Information for Eldridge Townhomes

Exercise extreme caution when considering properties listed by the horrible company “AIR Communities” on rental platforms. While their promotional visuals might appear enticing, prospective tenants should be forewarned of a multitude of hidden fees. Beyond the baseline rent, there are significant charges for amenities such as parking, water, and mail services, which often require an additional subscription. The following are crucial observations derived from reviews by past tenants across multiple platforms. It is imperative that you review these insights meticulously to avoid potential regrettable experiences.

Here is 7 reasons why you SHOULD NOT! consider moving into Eldridge Townhomes:

  1. Poor Construction Quality: Residents reported constant issues with appliances, garage doors, leaking roofs, and even centipede infestations. The buildings seem to have been constructed hastily and with subpar materials.
  2. Unprofessional Staff: There are complaints about the leasing office staff being very rude and unhelpful. Reviewers have had unpleasant interactions and found the staff to be dismissive and lacking in providing solutions to residents’ problems.
  3. Overpricing: The cost of living in the complex is mentioned as excessively high, with one reviewer noting that the price doubled since they first moved in. The perceived value does not match the living experience due to the numerous issues.
  4. Safety Concerns: There have been serious safety incidents, including a hostage situation and other gun-related issues, leading to a feeling that the community is not safe.
  5. Poor Communication: The leasing staff’s communication seems to be lacking, with appointments being rescheduled multiple times and information about available units being unclear.
  6. Mismanagement: The complex’s management practices are called into question, especially concerning the handling of emergencies and lost property. The staff’s reluctance to provide assistance is a common theme.
  7. Questionable Policies: The policies of the leasing office, particularly regarding the application process, are confusing and potentially financially risky, with non-refundable fees and waitlists for apartments.

Very rude and unprofessional. If you are that angry about people who are doing their job and asking for direction, JUST PUT A CLEAR SIGN OUTSIDE OF YOUR LEASING OFFICE THAT SAYS HOW TO ACCESS LOCKER THAT WAY DELIVERY DRIVERS DON'T HAVE TO INTERACT WITH YOU. Thank you,

Moved in right when the were first built. 3 bedroom 3 bath was half the price per month as they are now. The place was built with paper clips and Elmer's glue. Had multiple issues with the construction including ongoing gas leaks. They clearly rushed the construction and skipped steps. You can hear your neighbors every move. Mice issues. They also offer housing to few low income family's, which is fine however we had some serious safety issues because of it. Including a hostage situation which required the swat team to close down the community for hours. This unfortunately was not the only Gun issue we dealt with during our 2.5 years of staying there. The Eldridge is the ghetto of Elmhurst with an expensive price tag. STAY AWAY.

They never answer the phone. Your service messages are answered with pictures that do not answer your problem. We still do not have grills that work and seasonal outdoor furniture has not been put out yet this summer and it's mid July!

Stay away from this place if you can!!! Very cheap quality for the money they charge. Our dishwasher broke 4 times unill they changed it, washer terrible quality, can't wash even one load of sheets. Never clean this place after you move, because they will charge you around $700 anyway, even there is no damage to the place. Be aware if need to extende your time even for seven days, they will add a bunch of fees and you will pay a fortune for that week.We had afordable housing neighbors living next to us, last six month of our stay, and boy we had "fun", music was played loud sometimes till 3a.m. or 4:30a.m., when called to association, they advised to call police. Some neighbors would let their dogs outside in the balcony sometimes even 7a.m. on the weekends, no respect to others. After a move I contacted association next morning, that left two cast iron pans, no answear, thats how they care. Happy we moved and in a much better place!!!

I was utterly disgusted in the way that I was treated when I came into the leasing office. From the woman- who did not tell me her name but she has blonde hair- to the way she was speaking to a resident. He asked if there was an emergency phone or a lost and found because he lost his phone the night before. She looked at him up and down, with a face of disgust, and said "No.". He was so visibly upset that instead of going off he told her "I live across the street, the amount of money I pay and you don't have a lost and found or even an emergency phone that I can use." Instead of trying to find a solution she told him "I have a cellphone but you can't use it. But I'll make the call for you." Then maybe just don't offer the phone in the first place? After this, I was told that my appointment that was scheduled for noon was moved to two. Then I received a text saying it was rescheduled for tomorrow at 4:30. On top of this, I was told the units I was interested in were not "available" but I was still able to schedule a tour for that specific unit. At the end, I told her I don't have a specific budget just looking for now and that I wanted to see A UNIT before I leave. She said "well what you can do is apply today, pay 70 dollar for the application fee, put down 500 dollars, and we can place you on the waitlist." Ummmm why would I do that? And if I don't get the unit that I'm waitlisted for do I get my money back? She didn't answer that. It's probably safe to say that I will not be coming back here. Despite the area being nice, and perfect for what I was looking for I'll be looking for another place.
